Andy9o8 2 #1 October 11, 2009 Dear Powers-that-be: Enough already. Under whatever screen name he chooses, it's nothing but incoherent pollution of the website. Why is it tolerated any more? At this point, what he's done for the sport in the past has become irrelevant to this issue, as is the question of whatever it is he might be afflicted with. It's become a quality-of-site issue, like that Subaru ad (and please - let's not debate the analogy). Come the return of the work-week, can't you good folks please put him out of our misery, and make it stick? Of course you can. Please?
skyjumpsteve 0 #3 October 11, 2009 Every single "discipline" forum now has a thread "Missing Discipline". If he was posting to one forum that would be one thing but to read through that incomprehensible drivel in thread after thread and forum after forum is really too much. This is beyond ludicrous. Posting privileges should be banned indefinitely. A week or two is probably not going to cut it. How about until at least 2010? Seriously.....

BillyVance 34 #5 October 12, 2009 Surely you can ban access from IP addresses? Might not keep him from setting up new accounts on other computers, but well, it'll cut down significantly if he's too lazy to get out of the house. PhreeZone 20 #8 October 13, 2009 We are aware of it and are working on a solution. Please bear with us since its as painful for us as it is for everyone else too. IP ban is not an option with out blocking lots of other users of the site also.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

IP ban is not an option with out blocking lots of other users of the site also. So by IP ban, you're banning the entire Internet Provider? Man, I thought you could just ban a single IP address, like the computer the posts are coming from. Can you clarify how this works?"Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
PhreeZone 20 #10 October 20, 2009 Billy, there is a lot you are missing in the design of ISP's and how they allociate IP's. We are able to ban a single IP, a range of them or a lot of other aspects also. In this case it will not work as normal due to complications and we will leave it at that.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
JohnRich 4 #11 October 21, 2009 QuoteI thought you could just ban a single IP address, like the computer the posts are coming from. Can you clarify how this works? They probably can ban a single IP address. But many ISP's assign an IP dynamically, each time a user signs on. There is not necessarily one single IP address for each user. It can be different every time you sign on. Therefore, banning a single IP address might do the job today, but might entrap someone different tomorrow, and ever day thereafter. I guess we were all hoping it wouldn't get out of hand again. Predictably, though, it has.
