theonlyski 8 #1 May 4, 2015 From this thread: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4725586#4725586 Why not make it so if people cannot receive PMs, that they cannot send them either? Just a thought."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
Andy9o8 2 #2 May 4, 2015 Would it stop a person from enabling his PMs, PMing someone and then (re-?)disabling his PMs before the recipient could respond?
TandemMan 0 #3 May 4, 2015 Andy9o8Would it stop a person from enabling his PMs, PMing someone and then (re-?)disabling his PMs before the recipient could respond? No, but it would be a reminder to someone who has forgotten that he disabled private replies, thereby making it far less likely that this situation would occur. The difference is intent. Meso 38 #4 May 5, 2015 Hrmmm... There are pros and cons to this. If the worry is that someone may have forgotten that they have PMs turned off. I would prefer to go the route of adding a notification warning when they draft a message to say that they won't be able to receive a response. That way we won't prevent users who perhaps want to send a helpful PM to someone as a once off from being able to do that, while still dealing with the problem. theonlyski 8 #5 May 5, 2015 That works too. Perhaps remove the ability to hit reply and post a message saying that you're unable to reply to the person as well."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
Meso 38 #6 May 5, 2015 Will take a look into adding that (may be a bit more work). In the meantime, I've changed it so that writing a message from an account which has PMs turned off will display a warning.

In the meantime, I've changed it so that writing a message from an account which has PMs turned off will display a warning. Just went to send a PM and I got the message saying I need to enable PMs, but they are enabled. Doesn't seem to show this if it's a reply to a PM, just a new one."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
Meso 38 #9 May 5, 2015 Ah, I see what's going on... Should be resolved now, both those issues.
