Gawain 0 #1 June 27, 2003 I've done the cookie dance, etc. But signed in or not, I'm seeing this message (image attached) instead of pictures in the galleries. Any suggestions? So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! sangiro 25 #2 June 27, 2003 Are you behind a firewall or running a perosnal firewall on your PC? Does this happen even when you refresh the page?Safe swoops Sangiro
Gawain 0 #3 June 27, 2003 Quote Are you behind a firewall or running aperosnal firewall on your PC? Does this happen even when you refresh the page? Yes and sometimes. I am running BlackICE, and have been for years, it's not posed a problem in the past. Refreshing the page had been hit-or-miss. Of course, as I try to recreate the issue, I can't. I think the problem may have been (or could have been) with my pop-up/ad blocker (AdSubtract), even though I have it configured to allow everything from dz.com to flow free. Thanks for keeping an eye open. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! sangiro 25 #4 June 27, 2003 Can you switch off AdSubtract for a minute and browse the galleries, do the same with BlackIce and again with both switched off. That should give me an idea where to look. I have ZoneAlarm Pro as a firewall and get the access denied graphics when it's on.Safe swoops Sangiro
Gawain 0 #5 June 27, 2003 I completely switched off AdSubtract first, and I am not encountering the problem. I didn't even get to the point of turning off BlackICE yet. AdSubtract works through proxy setting 127.0.0.1 : 4444 That's the news from my end. I'm not experiencing the "issue" right now.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! You may want to check the security settings or window-popup block feature in XP. I used to use AdSubtract, but after turning it off, I've had no problems, and I run BlackICE on maximum settings. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! chronistin 0 #9 September 24, 2003 Thanks, but I have already turned off add blocking. It interferes with too many things. What kind of security settings are you referring to? Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
dterrick 0 #10 September 30, 2003 Same problems, and I found this thread. First I turned off the Google 'popup blocker' and that gave me about 1/2 the images. Then I turned Norton Personal Firewall off and got them all. I turned the popup blocker back on and allowed 'full' access thru the firewall and voila - problem solved. sangiro 25 #11 February 26, 2004 Just a note here to everyone finding this thread who uses a personal firewall. Most firewall software packages allow you to set up some form of "trusted" site. Add Dropzone.com to that list and you should be able to see the images and continue to get the benefits and protection that a firewall offers.Safe swoops Sangiro
