Jumping with sandals?

Recommended Posts

As much as I don't want to expose the unsuspecting world to my feet (not a pretty sight!) I was thinking it might be nice to have some sports sandals to jump in, for when the weather's nice and hot.
Aside from the obvious (make sure they're tied up nice and tight...etc) anyone got any cunning advice? Does it actually make the slightest bit of difference? Can you freefly ok with them on?
Ta,
Gus

I saw one (a sandal) scream by me in freefall the other day. Well, it was going up. Or appeared to be.
I haven't jumped them, but make sure the front part, toe area, doesn't tend to get blown back or fold under. It might be irritating if it did it in freefall, but will trip you when you land. That coming from somebody that does jump with them.

I jump with sandals when it is warm enough.
I just like the feel of my feet breathing. All I use is like a 20 dollar pair.
They have velcro that goes around the ankle and the toes and I have never had any problems.
As for free flying I have never really had any troubles.

My favorite type has always been the older, first-generation Teva and Fibus sandles that had the ankle wrap. Those types, like old flip-flops, had the part that went between your big toe and the second toe. I have never been fond of the type that just loop over the front of your foot because they do flip under more easilly when you are surfing out your landing. The old type, with one-color straps are only like $20 from the Sunshine Factory.

Copied from my longer post on "Make and Model: Thread:
. I do believe that the pilot chute that used to be on the Clipper is still in use on another rig, and still has my bloodstain on it from an unfortunate runway landing. You kiddies listen to your jumpmaster when he tells you that maybe you should have more than 19 jumps before you decide to be cool jumping in those Teva's!!
Thought you might get a laugh out of that!
