reno120 0 #1 June 13, 2001 I was looking on the internet for the best gear for the best possible price which could have gone on for ever. I had to limit my search some how. Before I begin remember this is a matter of opinion. I did not like the Wings design because it has quite a large hump on the bottom and it did not look pleasing to the eye. The Vector needed an all around new design (not designed for freeflying) but I did like the closing flap on the Vector 3 going to the top as does the Mirage. The Mirage is nice and EXPENSIVE the manufactures made the container more narrow which is good but longer at the same time (not good I was looking for smaller all around). I really Liked the Javelin because it was small in top, bottom and width but the container after I was done putting all my toys on it the cost was over 2000us before taxes & duty then the Main and Reserve ouch!!!! I stumble on to the Vortex 2 which may be consider as a look alike/copy of the Javelin with a couple of exceptions. The cost of a Vortex turned out to be a Fraction of the cost of the Javelin with all the fancy toys like ST-FULL SYS RING and custom colors. Vortex has the closing flap for the pull-pin going to the top as does the Vector 3 and Mirage. Everything is very tight and is very well crafted ( Made for freeflying). Nothing is visible on the rig such as bridles or the toggles (very secure). Vortex 2 are completely form fitted custom made, honestly you can’t fell them on your back (very comfortable). Vortex 2 also makes thee smallest container on the current market (this is no lie trust me) If any one is interested in the name of this it is the Vortex 2 EVS 100. Basically to make a long story short I was so happy with the gear I bought 2 of them for the same price I could have got my complete sys. with the javelin, main & reserve(incl taxes and Duty). Which equals more Jumps in a day with a packer on site. If anyone wants any more information about the vortex there website is http://www.vortex2systems.com

Vlad 0 #3 June 14, 2001 How come is Vector3 not suitable for freeflying ? It is one of the best and most secure rigs availalble. Also I would disagree about Wings. If you go to their website you'll find photos of some nice-looking rigs. I have Wings, and it looks excellent :))
jayhfx 0 #4 June 14, 2001 maybe that should go in the gear section..thanks for the "ad" but instead of slamming other containers maybe let the vortex stand on its own merits.time will tell
