Swoop cords?

Recommended Posts

As far as I know, they are cords, or straps that you put around your thumb and they run through the inside of your suit to your side, so when you fully extend your arm, it creates a kind of wing by stretching the fabric. Camera guys use them alot.

Like what Kris said, only non-camera flyers use them sometimes, too. My husband got them on his new Bev suit because he is big and falls like a rock. They help slow his fall rate. They are nice because you don't have to use them. They are removable. He seems to like them and think they help.

thanks for the info, I figured it was something like that. I think I am calling to change my order to add them. as aviatrr can attest I am more like a brick than a feather!!!

Agreed.. I know to jump in shorts and t-shirt next time.. Swoop cords work well on some jumpsuits, but not so well on others.. Ask the manufacturer how effective they are on the specific suit you ordered.. You may want them to put on 'fruit bat wings' instead.. The wings on my RW suit are large fruit bat wings..

I am gonna call Tony suits to ask for those. I think I want those instead of the cords.

A woman named Wendy up in NC.. www.airwear-by-wendy.com
As you could see, the wings I have on my suit allow me quite a range of fall rates.....but not quite up to that ridiculous fast speed I really needed.. :)Mike
