Seems they are made of metal and the rep says they are as big as the cutaway cable housing in the container.Sounds bulky as hell.I know of one extreme canopy pilot that claims it saved his life the other day when he had line twists all the way back to his three rings.Any one know if the riser covers will stay shut with this? cderham 0 #4 August 22, 2001 I have the v3 riser housing and tru-lok toggles as well on my v3. When they first come out and not avalable on the market. I had a long disscussion with Dave Starr at Quincy (2000 I believe). I purchased the riser housings then and ordered a set of risers with housings and tru-loks as well. Dave told me of no prolems then with test jumpes and I have experienced no problems with my v3 at all due to the housings. The way I look at them is 1 more safety precaution is always invited on my rig as long as it is proven. The tru-loks will eliminate the brake coming unstowed on opening issue. When new the pins fit really tight into the riser. Even with a few hundred jumps on my current risers they still seem to lock in nice. An issue with the housings that Dave told me is a line delevoping on my top riser flap that from wear. He suggested placing the main riser under the flap covering the reserve risers. I have a v3 that was manufactured in 97 (The one w/ the tag stating do not place main risers under this flap). I mentioned this to Dave at the time and was told they did that in the beginning. But there are no issues with placing the under that flap now or was there then. It was just a precaution because they had not proven a problem did not exist. He places his risers under that flap and has no issues. I have no experience with the javelin housings. As all my friends that own javelins have relative workshop housings in their javelin risers.
