skybytch 273 #3 April 30, 2002 QuoteAny one ever heard of a SST Racer (container and harness) Glidepath Fury 220 main. Yup. You just described my first rig. I bought it used and put a couple hundred jumps on it. Mine had a 24' round reserve in it too. Paid $900 for it in 1990.My container was built in 1984 and would not be considered even close to "freefly friendly" today; there were no riser covers over the shoulder and the velcro riser channels on the sides routinely came open. Was a very comfortable harness and container though and it worked well for a starter rig for me.My Fury was one worn out piece of F111 and never did land me very well, even at a loading of 0.7:1, but I jumped others with fewer jumps on them and they flew and landed well. As long as you aren't loading it over 1.0 and it doesn't have many jumps on it, the Fury is a good main. What kind of price are you looking at paying and what are the manufacture dates?pull & flare, lisa[subliminal msg]My website Go Now[/subliminal msg]
rapper4mpi 0 #4 April 30, 2002 Heather, yes I've heard of both. Both have been very popular in the past. I put about 175 jumps on a Blue racer with a fury 220 in it. Great transition gear, very reliable. Just by chance, who is selling this gear? Do you have a name for the person? Thanks.-Rap
SkydiveMonkey 0 #5 April 30, 2002 I quite like Furys - only jumped them about 5 times but they turned quite fast (at least compared to student kit etc), with enough forward speed and flare. boobies - the cause of, and solution to, all of lifes problems
heathmor 0 #6 April 30, 2002 It is going to cost me 800 bones for the complete rig but i am getting 2 suits with it, an alt II, and helmet. the rig DOM is 87 the main has about 300 jumps on it. PhreeZone 20 #8 May 1, 2002 It depends on what the reserve in the container is but that price was pretty steep imho for a rig that severly limits how you can jump. With a DOM of 87 thats putting the rig at 14 years old. Most people would'nt look at a car thats that old without knowing a lot about it just because the potential issues that are associated with buying older things. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will....
