Roy at Rigs and Things obviously dosn't know his stuff well enough then - they are TSO'd and they're a damn good rig. They will ship it to anywhere you like - if you know people in south africa get them to order it for you and you will save loads as you will get it for the local price.

Hi Folks,
Actually, I do know what I'm talking about (most of the time anyway) when it comes to gear sold in todays US market! After all, it's how I make my living so I can skydive all the time!
If you own or buy a Teardrop made by Thomas in Great Britain, then chances are you can use it in the US! However, be sure to check with your rigger before spending any money.
However, if you get one from a "dealer" that got one from PISA, and he or she sell it to you, then it will not be TSO'd for use in the US.
My company deals directly with PISA on a daily basis, so I do believe we're up to speed when it comes to gear manufactured by them!
Now that we all are on the same level.....you may ask why is it that the Teardrop made by PISA, is not TSO'd for use in the US?
The answer is that PISA wants to do some more market re-search in the European and the African market with this rig before spending time and money with the already floded US gear market!
Rigs & Things will more than likely be one of the first the first companies to sell this rig, if or when it hits the US market.
Please feel free to e-mail us anytime should you have any other questions about any type of gear!
Safe Skies, Roy.

SkyCat has Thomas (TSO'D) Teardrops f/s on their site. The "Classic" w/ the Racer style main container is pictured and the "Superfly" w/ Vector style main container is mentioned in print. I got curious about the PISA version because of the price advantage and knew that Roy would come thru with a good deal.
FYI,

If, or when it will be available for the US market we will most certainly have all spare components/parts available for this rig!
We have asked PISA for a a possible release date, but so far they have not indicated any concrete plans for the US market!
I will continue to "bug" them as long as the interest is "up there" for this rig.
In the meantime, check out our July specials: Wings Aerial System is 30% off, and get free tie-dye!

I have a beautiful 2 pin, like new, can't get it packed
because it's not TSO'd in the USA. Bummer, in spite of the velcro, it's very well made rig! I recently saw a new Teardrop that had the smallest profile I've ever seen. Gotta get one!

Foriegners can jump gear rated in their home country, but someone from that country can not jump it in the US. Someone from SA can jump a TearTrop container here, but they can not let anyone else borrow it to jump it.
