Wierd main canopy?

Recommended Posts

This is another has-anyone-heard-of-this-main-I'm-looking-into-buying-used-gear questions. According to the seller its called a ZP 145 and its supposed to be a South African copy of a Sabre.
While we're at it, is there a sizing guide for Javelin harnesses anywhere?
Thanks.
Jess

A ZP 145 ... Please don't buy that shit ... It's impossible to flare this canopie.. A friend of mine lost a couple of hundred dollard..

OR maybe if you still want to buy it I can find you a big deal on an ZP 150 !!!

Just my opinion !!!!

The ZP was manufactured by Chute Shop in South Africa. It was replaced by the ZP Exec about 2 years ago. It is a nine cell square. If I am correct the canopy was first produced 1990 , a comparison to the Sabre with better openings. Many people jumped it in South Africa and it was considered a "hot" canopy in its days. The glide is steeper than than some of its peers of the time, something to consider if you had a long spot. They sell second hand for +/- $ 300 in South Africa. I would rather save up and go for the Hornet or the new ZP Exec.
Just my 2cents worth.;)
PS If you cannot flare a ZP change the canopy pilot or put him back on a student canopy.

I gave you the feedback I heard from many of skydivers who tried a ZP.

Yes we tried to change the skydiver from 100 to 3000 jumps and they all hate that canopie, but maybe its a just a bad one and all other are correct. But personnally, if I had to buy something .. i'll go with the hornet !!!

I give you my opinion ... do what you want with that, 'cause it's your $$$$.

Personnaly, i purchased a Hornet !!!
