skybytch 273 #3 September 6, 2002 My Pit Special is 12 years old, has 600-ish jumps on it. The zipper has been replaced once, knees have been patched three times, spandex at the wrists resewn twice. I liked it... Only thing I didn't like about it is how tight it was/is through the shoulders and in the armpits. My own fault; I had no idea how a suit was supposed to fit when I got it. Download one of the order forms - prices are listed on them.
Deuce 1 #4 September 6, 2002 Got a Pit special. Love it, don't recommend the second grips on the arms, haven't had cause to use them. Get the big honkin grippers, cordura knees, booties and seat, extra pocket. There's some pictures of mine that Quade and Viking took at Perris last weekend on their posts about that. The quality is really good, haven't seen any better.

TALONSKY 0 #9 September 6, 2002 Tony suits are awesome I have 2. I have a pit special and a Tony suit. Love both of them and I think thier customer service Rocks. I got my pit special in less than 2 weeks on a rush and my Tony Suit in 4 weeks on a rush. They both fit great. Kirk
 Deuce 1 #10 September 6, 2002 Yeah, my camera suit is a Tony too. Super high quality.
 steve1 5 #11 September 6, 2002 I bought both my Pit Special and Tony Suit used from E-bay and the DZ.com classified adds. The price was very low on both of them, but I also had to do some additional sewing to get them to fit right. I really like both jumpsuits. Can I get by with one suit for both RW and freeflying or do they really need to be specialized suits? If I need two suits, then I guess the RW suit should have booties, but I know I'm in no mood at the moment to be spending upward of $600-700 on skydiving suits. Ask Lisa what it's really called, but it's got grippers on the forearms and really works.
 skybytch 273 #15 September 7, 2002 QuoteSo what is the best suit for a bowling ball sort of jumper Manufacturer is your choice; imho they all make nice suits. For RW, if you fall really fast look for a suit built out of a medium weight polycotton (heavy weight if you're really, really fast) that has some extra fabric under the armpits and in the legs to create the drag you'll need to fall with us featherbutts. Some names - FliteSuit's Flite Suit, Tony Suits Tony Suit or Swoop Suit, Bev Suits Polycotton Suit, Michigan's Standard Suit. You can always contact the suit manufacturer for ideas on which of their suits will work best for how you fall/fly. QuoteCan I get by with one suit for both RW and freeflying or do they really need to be specialized suits? I recommend that a new jumper get a basic RW suit - by basic I mean no booties, no inseam grips, no extra grippers on the upper arms or forearms, no thicker "competition" grips... just a suit with arm and leg grippers and maybe a pocket or two. You can learn basic freeflying in baggy sweats and a long sleeve tshirt; the time to buy a freefly suit is once you decide you really want to get into it. I've tried freeflying in my (tight) RW suit and it didn't work too well; might work better with the baggier suit you'll likely need for RW. Prices are on the order form but most prolly is that it will change by the time you make the order. A friend ordered one that was supposed to be 400$ and it came out on 500+$ I made one that was supposed to be 480$ and it came 400$ flat. download the suit editor and you will see what fabric will make you fall faster (ie. Nylon). The company has great customer service, I had one with a bad measure and sent it after 2 months of use for the fixing and they did it for free and fast. email them with any question you have and they will answer you after 24 hours or something like that.
