dsbbreck 0 #27 June 24, 2009 I'm curious as to what he can accomplish with just that information as well. I decided to play along, and he's all the way as to saying payment is on it's way. I know it's a scam based on how many people he has contacted with the same spiel, but I've yet to see where he's going to profit from this. Here are the emails back and forth. Hello, How are you today? just want to let you know that the payment has been made out to you today on your name and address which you provided me and you will receive it by Weekend or Next week so please get back to me as soon as you get it....So i can email you my DHL label which carries the the DHL account for the shipping and i will also call DHL to come for the pick up of the item in your location as soon as the payment cleared. So i would like you to remove the advert from the website & consider it SOLD. Expecting your payment soonest. jhendrix13 0 #28 June 25, 2009 how it works is they send you a forged Money order (usally western union) so when you cash it with your bank it will initally clear, so you'll send the item. The bank will notice the fraud a few days later and guess who's responsable.....you. Not Cool.If you don't remember the good times, Then whats the point of having them. zuziel 0 #30 June 25, 2009 Is there some way to get this guy? I am playing along with him at this point also. His profile shows he has never logged in. I am trying (in a friendly way) to get him to give me more information, but like everyone else in here has stated, he stops with "the payment has been made out to you". I am wondering if we do get these "fraudulent money orders" can we do anything to stop him from trying this in other forums? Possibly inform the authorities? (I actually just laughed at myself for typing that!)

svnh 1 #34 June 27, 2009 Quotemy DHL label which carries the the DHL account for the shipping and i will also call DHL to come for the pick up of the item in your location as soon as the payment cleared. I also got an email from this guy on a reserve canopy that I have for sale. Funny thing I thought DHL is out of business at least in the US so how will they pick up the package?. jerolim 7 #35 June 29, 2009 I've got same mail from this scamer. I responded with my name, address, price and mobile phone. What is my best next move ? Should I tear the check when it arrives ?
mrbiceps 0 #36 June 29, 2009 i am waiting for this fools cheque as well. i was thinking of playing along and asking him for his return address that i can send the refund cheque to him. then calling the bank or western union or whatever cheque he is faking and seeing if they want to try and catch him. problem is he may be reading this thread now. From what i have read he has no interest in what you are selling so no one will ever come to pick it up.
likestojump 3 #37 June 29, 2009 people(s) this is an automated process with some conglomerate of assholes mass posting to any forums / sales venues they have in their web crawler. they send you a "check". they ask for a "refund". The very few unfortunate ones that send the "refund" are fucked. those usually originate in countries where law can be bought for the price of a Starbucks coffee, so it's safer and much easier to be smart about it. Trust me, those "people" could care less what you email them, it's all copy and paste with them. in other words save your strengths, you'll never catch them, the opportunity costs are just too high. timmangan 0 #38 June 30, 2009 Far out! What a dodgey dude, I just got emails from him aswell!! youve got to give it to him though, he's persistent. I think i would get sick of not getting anythin from people. But a guy where I work a few weeks ago sent off $5000 through western union for a car, then the guy said his wife wanted more and to send him another $3000. he didnt, but obviously never saw the $5k again. We didnt know about it until after he sent the money through.

That's the first thing I thought when I read he was trying to setup a DHL pickup. I've got lots of scrap 2x4's and plywood i've got lots of scrap bricks from demo's How much would it cost to ship a crate of bricks to australia I might try emailing that address even though he hasn't sent anything to me.
