Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.This username has been disabled.

Meso 38 #5 November 8, 2011 Everyone listed in the Scam Alert forum is a confirmed scammer. Never do any dealing with ANYONE listed in this forum section.
LetsGoOutside 0 #6 November 10, 2011 He contacted me as username "d_12". I should have checked this forum before asking for a payment. Received a check for $3,000 for a $1,300 sale. Reading back through the emails it should have been obvious, but I've been unloading a ton of gear and it sort of slipped by. Never sent the canopy or tried to deposit the check, of course. EDIT: I should add that he never offered a higher amount. He actually tried to bargain on the price. It wasn't until I actually received the check that I saw he had added $1700 for "shipping". airbigdaddy 0 #8 November 15, 2011 This guy is still active under the same name. He had a buddy of mine ready to Western Union him the $1,500 he overpaid in the $4,500 check he sent.-Lambert- "It's better to be looked over than overlooked."
