Thanks, Click here to read more about these kind of scams. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.This username has been disabled.
Kami-kaze 0 #2 July 27, 2011 I got one too. It sounded genuine but considering he went for a Katana 107 and then at the same time wanting to buy my Safire2 139. claiming it´s a present for his dad. I paste the email I got from him. I really appreciate your respond, I am an oceanographer and am currently at sea at the moment, I located in pacific CA, and i want you to know that am okay with the canopy status and also the conditions of the canopy and the asking price as well, I am buying the canopy as a gift for my dad as a surprise for him, he wont know anything about the canopy until they get delivered to him, i can only pay through pay pal as i don't have access to my bank account on-line as i don't have internet banking, but i have my bank account attached to my pay pal account and this is why i insisted on paying you through pay pal, kindly get back to me with your pay pal details if you don't have PayPal account yet,it is very easy to set up at your bank and get it set up, after you have set it up i will only need the e-mail address you use for registration with PayPal so as to put the money through so i can proceed with the payment and after the payment has been done, i have a pick up agent that will come around for verifications and to pick the canopy after i have made the payments for the canopy. So I will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the making of the payment. 1.Your PayPal full name. 2.Your PayPal Email Address. 3..Your phone number. Once again ,I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for shipping. I will have my pick-up agent come over as soon as you have receive the payment confirmation. Bolas 5 #4 July 27, 2011 If they're using PayPal how can they scam you? Doesn't PayPal verify and pull the funds from their account before completing the transaction? Err... Nevermind. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/30/business-finance-investing/craigslist-paypal-payment-scam-176383/ Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. giordano16 0 #5 July 28, 2011 Same as me, here's his reply when I asked for the payment... I was just about to make the payments when I had a little problem with the Picking-Up Agent of the rig ,Has i explained to you earlier that I am currently on sea and I am buying the rig for my dad,I tried to book a Pick-up with my shipping agent,But they asked me to Pay first before they can made the Booking, and they only Accept Western Union Money Transfer for their payment's and they don't accept PayPal or bank Transfer and I tried to send the Money Online but i could not and I am on sea and there is no way i can find a Western Union Agent to make the transfer to my Pick-up agent,So i wanted to ask if it was okay for me to include my Pick-up agent's fees in the payment's I am about to send through PayPal,my pick up agent charged is €410 plus Insurance and some other document for the pick-up,please can i include their money in the payments I want to send then after i have made the payments you will help me forward the €410 to my pick up agent through Western Union Money Transfer, this I would have done myself and not bother you but for the fact that I am currently on sea, so after I have made the payments you will help me send €410 to my pick up agent through western union money transfer,I just wanted to seek your consent before going ahead with the payments,I will more than appreciate if you mail me back, and I will be made the payments shortly......Awaiting your response soonest PS:the shipping company's Head quarters is in England and any pick up fees to be paid is sent to their head quarters by the payee, so the money for pick up will be sent to their head quarters in England through western union money transfer(this can be done from any post office) or you can do it online at www.western union.com Thanks,
