gus 1 #1 October 22, 2002 I don't think that pdf offers open corners as an option on new Atoms but has anyone had their rigger do this retrospectively? Or have any of the riggers out there done it for someone? GusOutpatientsOnline.com
BPO 0 #2 October 22, 2002 eehh.. why would you want open corners on a rig? just trying to learn something new everyday...
gus 1 #3 October 22, 2002 Quoteeehh.. why would you want open corners on a rig? For Birdman jumping: it's been an option available on Wings for a while. It's to help give a cleaner deployment since the canopy is no longer opening directly above you - lots of forward speed means it's actually opening above and behind you. esso167 0 #4 October 23, 2002 Hello I did make this modification on my own atom classic 00 rig few weeks ago. I did left about 1 inch of sewing on corners to keep rig shaped. Unfortunately weather has turned so cold here that I haven`t jumped with my birdman after that... jussi---Ubi est actio hic?---
gus 1 #5 October 23, 2002 Cool! PM me or post here with the results. Were you having problems with your unmodified Atom? If you can get a photo I'd like to see what it looks like after your mod. GusOutpatientsOnline.com
esso167 0 #6 October 23, 2002 OK may take some time before it is warm enough for me to jump with birdman again but I will inform you. Nah no problems, I was just too lazy to do it for my old container (it was a atom too) and I jumped loan spectre with birdman so there was no real necessary to do the mod. I will try to take pictures for you during weekend latest jussi---Ubi est actio hic?---
maretus 0 #7 October 24, 2002 Jussi, it's never too cold to jump a birdman suit. We made a nice 3-way in Utti last weekend, it was "only" -25 C in exit altitude (4000m). :) But it was well worth it...http://www.ufufreefly.com
esso167 0 #8 October 24, 2002 hmmm Personally I do like birdie jumping on little bit warmer weather... but maybe i will try during weekend how high is -20 C my personal winter altitude limit. just thinking how much clothes you manage to put under your birdie suit or do you have special loose fit one for winter use? jussi---Ubi est actio hic?---
ernokaikkonen 0 #9 October 24, 2002 I thought yours had a pretty loose fit? Unless you've been exercising your 'freefall stability muscle' lately...
esso167 0 #10 October 24, 2002 Yes mine is loose on summer but now it`s not so loose... My freefall muscle is in good shape and I call him Osmo Osmo don`t like to be in cold so I need to put a lot warm clothes on, mayby I allso need to sew some extra spandex on my birdsuit to get it on. the Osmo Mod! jussi ---Ubi est actio hic?---
