Kris 0 #2 March 2, 2003 That would be Brian's latest creation, the Sensei. Crossbraced, airlocked...sounds like it's going to be a monster. Way beyond my experience level but I can't wait to see one fly. From the gossip I've heard, it not too much farther from being released. PhreeZone 20 #4 March 2, 2003 Brians got the Shogun which he played around with a while ago, is that the one you are thinking of? The Sensei I was told is nearing production, its just got to recieve the Big Air tweaks to make it stand out. PhreeZone 20 #6 March 2, 2003 Shogun is a 7 cell Airlocked that is similar to a Spectre. The Sensei is the crossbraced canopy. I know at WFFC Brian said he was working on some different trim and other options to see what was best so I bet there was more then one prototype out there.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Samurai136 0 #9 March 5, 2003 My understanding is that Swanson has been jumping various proto-types of the Sensei. The last I heard Brian had a vision in his sleep and decided to tweak the canopy a bit more. That was a few months ago. I have to say that the buzz on the new canopy is high but I am like you, I want to get my hands on one of the new ones to try when they come out! Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" monkeyKam 0 #12 March 6, 2003 - The Sensei is still in testing stages. - Brian Germain and Mike Swanson are THE test jumpers. - There have been 4 prototypes to date (by my count; don't quote me). Brian built a new prototype just before the Red Bull swooping thing at Z-Hills a week or two ago. - We have not published an OFFICIAL release date or even mentioned how soon it might be released, yet (stay tuned). Brian is VERY particular about releasing canopies or calling a canopy ready for production. - We are working very hard to get the Sensei ready for release and production, so bear with us. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to send them to me at andy@bigairsportz.com. monkeyKam 0 #14 March 6, 2003 Hey Kelly! Yep, flying a 105 Sam. The optimum loading for a Sam is about 1.8. My fat ass is well suited for a 105. Also yep, I'm the Marketing Director at Big Air. It's a dream job, for sure. As for the Sensei, I'll keep you all informed, believe me. I just chimed in here to stop any rumors or run away stories. Later! freeflyswc 0 #17 March 7, 2003 i saw brian and swanson jumping them at the zhills swoop comp and they diddn't impress me . maybe it's because they don't have a lot of jumps on them , but they diddn't place well at all.

Yoshi 0 #19 March 7, 2003 yeah when down in z-hills at the red bull meet (qualifier I think) the sensei didnt seem to have the desired flight characteristics of a swoop machine... but what do I know... I just noticed that the velocities and fx's and vx's hell even jonny on his crossfire were getting longer swoops.... but like vern said it could jsut be from lack of time under the canopy and learning the points where to push it to get the performance.. anyways thats my 2 cents.. -yoshi kelly gonna be at safety day tomarrow??? see you there._________________________________________ this space for rent. rapper4mpi 0 #20 March 7, 2003 Let me put some facts out there for you all. Mike Swanson has been jumping two Big Air Sports Airlocked/crossbraced prototypes (yellowish colors) for a while now, he put about 1,000 jumps on both. They were both very stable and excellent canopies. Brian wanted to tweak the design, so he produced two more prototypes (blue colors) which Mike has not been jumping more than a month. The design and wing shape of these canopies is like nothing you have ever seen before, believe me, I looked at them up close. Brian is still working on tweaking the design. He has an amazing work ethic and just talking with him and listening to his knowledge of aerodynamics, wing shape etc... is enough to make anyone want to buy a canopy from him, IF it is right for you. I know nothing about release dates. However, Mike has been in the sport since age 16 (15 years) and has many, many jumps. Most importantly, he is the first to say if a design in flawed or unsafe. The perfect test jumper! All I can say is stay tuned to bigairsportz.com to hear more about the canopies. -Rap
skygod7777 0 #21 March 7, 2003 Quoteyeah when down in z-hills at the red bull meet (qualifier I think) the sensei didnt seem to have the desired flight characteristics of a swoop machine... well, as it has been said, i guess they don't have too many jumps under them, but swanson got like third in a swoop comp a while back. like some swoop comp on a beach, maybe in brazil, or venezuela or somthing like that. so, it can't be that bad of a canopy later
