skymick 0 #1 October 29, 2002 Hi all, got 2 questions: I am thinking of selling my Sabre 170 (400 jumps in good condition), what would be a fair price for it roughly? Also im looking at a Sabre 150, with approx 500 jumps which seems to be in good condition (havent had a good look at it yet) the owner is after $1500 australian for it (i think its around $820US) is this a good price? steve1 5 #2 October 29, 2002 That sounds high to me. The prices could be different in Australia though. If you lived in the states I'd say order a new hornet from South Africa for around $700. I'm not sure if that's what they are going for though. The price has been going steadily up. There may be a big import fee to Australia also. You can get around the import fee here in the U.S. I actually paid around $600. last winter for a new hornet in custom colors. I ordered it from Manny. It's comparable to a Sabre2. annaandbob 0 #3 October 29, 2002 Sounds a bit pricey to me. I think 650 would be more of a fair price.
bobsoutar 0 #4 October 29, 2002 I agree and you should get between $750 & $800 for yours.
PhreeZone 20 #5 October 29, 2002 Fair price is closer to $550-575 US for both. Selling it at that price might be hard since the market is flooded with used cheap sabres right now. I know someone that sold his Sabre 150 for under $400 just to sell it since there are way too many used Sabres out there. When you can get a used Sabre2 for 1000, why pay 700+ for a used old design? Look at the classifieds here to get a feel for the market price, just remember most people will budge on the price so just since 4 adds are showing they are asking 750.. that does'nt mean they'll get that at sale. If they are including risers in with the canopy, expect to pay a bit more.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 October 29, 2002 I would not pay more than $600 for that here in North Carolina. My dad was just up here and found a Sabre 150 with around 400 jumps on it and zero damage for $500. Chuck
Zoltan 0 #7 November 1, 2002 Older design PD canopy prices are very low nowdays both Sabre and Stiletto. Sabre2 is hot stuff and many other manufacturer just introduced new designs. I sold my 8 years old ~1300 jumped Sabre 150 with new lineset for about 550$ (about because of i sold it for euro But your home country might be very different then US or Europe. Ask the local dealer and riggres for advice and in general try to get as much you can z
