Safire 2 Mod?

Recommended Posts

Talk to hooknswoop about it...he'll tell ya everything...I now have a completely new canopy due to the mod. works great. althought I dont think it will work on the safire 2's..I dont think there's a need for it on the 2's...at least in my opinion.

and 2's

the mod is only for the safire 1's. the 2's don't need it.

Nor do original Safires that have been relined to Rev 2 trim. I suspected as much and compared notes with Derek and he agreed that although there was a slight difference between his mod and the trim revision 2, it would be scarcely noticeable.

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

ya, those too. but i have heard from some people they like the mod hooknswoop does better than the one icarus does. now the mod that icarus does helps a lot, but hook's is better i guess.

i don't know from first hand experience, but this is what people have told me.

Personally I don't think it's worth it. My Safire was mod by an ex-owner - he increased brake line length to use riser. Anyway I found it quite difficult to land it and I couldn't find stall point - it had to be flare before my knees! Yesterday I had to un-mod it back to manufacturer's standard measure. Oh it flared much better and performance's even better before. I can able to land it well and soft. My rigger told me my Safire's brake line was about 6-7 inches too long! :S I have no idea why this ex-owner needed to mod it.

Mod is not the same thing as lengthing the brake lines (which seems to be all this guy did before you). Maybe he had longer arms than you, or longer risers. That gave him the ability to use the extra 6 inches of length.
