jdhill 0 #1 June 30, 2003 OK, so PD has a new ad in Parachutist... "designed to slice up the competition." What is the buzz on what and when they will release? If I remember corrently, they did a similar campaign with the Velocity... baiting the market... A little tickler, then a name, then the info, spread over several month before the actual release... I've heard rumblings about new materials vs. new design, but nothing concrete, and based on the tag line it might suggest high performance market segment. Anyone? AggieDave 6 #2 June 30, 2003 I've heard a couple rumors of a new mid-performance elliptical, like an updated Stilleto to compete more directly with the newer designs on the market (xfire2, for example).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." SkySlut 0 #3 June 30, 2003 I have seen them testjumping the "stiletto 2" or whatever they are going to call it. But I really hope that they are going to release the new canopy that is going to surpass the velocity that they have also been jumping.

Yoshi 0 #5 June 30, 2003 what I would do is look up the kangi in the bottom right hand corner of the ad and see what it means. also judging by the "cuts" in the add it is the letter "K" counld it posibly be a katana? -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent. skymedic 0 #6 June 30, 2003 I've heard of a canopy that will be direct competition for the Xfire two..and I'm sure this will be it...as I had a certain PD person tell me not to buy a Xfire till this one comes out and I test jump it..... PhreeZone 20 #7 June 30, 2003 Up until the Vengence and Velocity most of PD's canopies were named after knifes/swords. Excaliber, Sabre, Stiletto... Katana would be a likely follow on name.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

That is actually not the case at all. All are names of fighter planes. This directly from the horses mouth. Yes, the "next generation nine-cell elliptical" will be debuted soon enough, but no, it will absolutely NOT be named "Stilletto 2." Chuck

ChileRelleno 0 #22 July 1, 2003 Thats strange, I did a search using the word kanji and it came up up as a type of japanese alphabet, see www.kanjisite.com or search kanji on whatever search engine your using. Where did you come up with a katana, just curious? ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
ChileRelleno 0 #23 July 1, 2003 The third alphabet, kanji, was imported over the centuries from China. The pictograms are typically (much) more complex than kana (remember, "kana" refers collectively to hiragana and katakana) and, furthermore, have different readings and meanings depending on how they're combined with other kanji. They represent ideas or words rather than syllables, although of course hiragana or katakana could be used to spell out the pronunciation. It's not uncommon to see a kanji with its reading spelled out in very small kana, written just above it. Kana used in this way, to show you how to pronounce a kanji, are known as "furigana". Also, the same kanji can often be read in different ways. For example, the kanji sei can be read as sei when in "sensei" (teacher), or as u in "umareta" (I was born), or nama in "nama biiru" (draft beer). Aargh! Panic! *slap!* Calm down. It's not that hard. Just breathe deeply and you'll be fine. Follow me... ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
ChileRelleno 0 #24 July 1, 2003 So it might make sense if a symbol/character or "Kanji" were to be used for the name of the canopy... ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
