jumperconway 0 #1 October 30, 2003 After weeks(monthes?) of jumping the 27-83' Xaos that Precision made me for a demo, I found out today that my new baby(27-79') left tuesday! At least I was able to jump the demo since before the TSR '03 until this one was done! I'll give an update once I recieve it!
swooper120 0 #2 October 30, 2003 I jump a Xaos27 - 78, and I love it..the openings are awesome, turns are crisp, and on a rear-riser landing, seems you can swoop forever sometimes.. Previous Canopy Experience: Fury 220, Ariel 170, Sabre 135, Jedei 136, Stiletto 120, Icarus FX 93, Velocity 84..and now the Xaos Also, jumped other various canopies too..(Heatwave, Vipers, Stilettos, Jedeis, Samurais, VX) Good stuff!!! Enjoy!!
jumperconway 0 #3 October 30, 2003 This will be my 4th Xaos-21-88,21-85.27-83(demo). I still own the 2-21s! The wingloading on the 27-83 wouldn't dive as hard or long as the 21-85 (with 5 more # of lead on).

jumperconway 0 #6 November 3, 2003 Missed ya Brit, Awsome canopy! Real heavy silicone coat on the material(not Gelvenor). Really nice openings, much better dive than the 83'. Opens so soft that I kept thinking I must have line twists then look up and watch it snivelling!
RTB 0 #7 November 3, 2003 Quote Changed to S.African ZP. Did they change to Gelvenor fabric (SA) ? Is this just your canopy or a general change? Do you know why? I hear different things about this fabric, my canopy has it so I'm curious.

hookitt 1 #9 November 3, 2003 >Changed to S.African ZP. No they didn't. It's the same ZP. It may have more silicone on it but it's not the South African Fabric. It's easier to handle when it is manufactured with more silicone. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

It's easier to handle when it is manufactured with more silicone. If that's the case it's great. The demo they made a month ago was like PD slick, this is really easy to handle. I just had several people tel me it was the SA material. They jump Cobalts and a Viper. Sorry, my bad.
ramon 0 #11 November 3, 2003 It felt like Gelvenor material. It may not be but it was sticky. very nice."Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
hookitt 1 #12 November 4, 2003 Yeah, that was due to the amount of silicone used during manufacturing. I certainly appreciated it when I first recieved my Xaos. I asked Chris about it when he was out at the Byron Boogie. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
jedeisurf 0 #13 November 4, 2003 Would you recomend the 27 for camera flying openings ect. David
hookitt 1 #14 November 4, 2003 I've jumped 3 Xaos 27 cells. Diablopilots, my brothers, and my own. I'd wear video and stills while jumping either of those canopies. The openings on each of the canopies have all been comfortable. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
jumperconway 0 #15 November 4, 2003 QuoteWould you recomend the 27 for camera flying openings ect. David --------------------- I would be totally confident on the 21 or 27 for camera. My 21-88' (2.2/1)is the absolute best opening canopy I've ever jumped.
Xaosrules 0 #16 November 5, 2003 The Xaos is the best opening canopy i have ever jumped. I used to do camera jumping a Stiletto, and it worked all right. But the Xaos is a cameramans dream. The Xaos-21 has the slowest opening and they are onheading almost on every jump. Perfect for camera. The Xaos-27 has a little shorter snivel, but not hard in any way, and gives me a off heading opening more often (but its not a problem - just get used to it). The Xaos-27 is also a more seeking canopy and its very touchy on harness and rearrisers input during the deployment. Testjump one. Start with the Xaos-21 and move on to the Xaos-27. If you are looking for nice openings you will love the Xaos.
SHARKY 0 #17 November 6, 2003 I have had a 21-83' and now jump a 27-77' and both of them are absolutley superb canopies. The openings are predictable and soft and the landings are just wicked on the rear risers on my 27. Just a word of warning though on the amount of silicone applied to the 27's. A friend of mine has a 27-83 and for a number of reasons re-pack etc he had the main packed in the bag for a number of weeks. Because of the repack he decided to re-pack the main before he jumped it. "Good Call" as i doubt very much that it would have opened. When taken out of the bag the material was a solid mass and the two of us had to physically pull each part of the canopy apart including getting into the cells to peel them open, believe me they weren't just slightly stuck together they were solid. The canopy has been fine again since but it is worth checking beforehand if you find yourself in the same position. My life is in Xaos!!!
