What's the farthest you know you have swooped?

Recommended Posts

i really have no clue. i'm guessing into the 290's.

the only one that i have measured was one that was into the wind, on a 240' course. i took the whole coarse (not like high above the ground, i could drag my toe if i wanted) and it was about 8 to 10 mph head wind.

so downwind, or no wind, i have no clue, but i'm guessing 280, 290. who knows.

I'm not the best swooper, hell, I suck I think, but am working on it ...

This weekend (duing the swoop camp with Ian Bobo and Shannon Pilcher) I'm pretty sure I got to 200+ ft.

I'm on a Sabre2 135 lightly loading at 1.15:1 doing 270s.

Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!

I have been radared at 55 in my hook turn once, but it was a super low turn, so I was in brakes as soon as I was out of the turn. I could have gone a lot faster. SO, HOW FAST HAVE YOU GONE SPEED BOY?

Don't know, why don't you bring out a radar gun and we'll find out.

On my big-ass heatwave, I've actually gone about 275ft. That was one of those *everything was perfect* swoops, not an everytime type thing. I took a friends Sabre2 190 about 250ft one day.

Well, there is no video, about 4 or 5 people (including a pro-swooper) saw it. I know it was that far simply because it was on our "swoop strip" and its marked off every 100ft. That and I entered about 10 ft before the end of the hanger (its right next to the hanger) and swooped to the end of the hanger.

Also, realize what I was loading that 190 at. Almost 1.5:1, toss a big-fat 270 and that thing will move.B|

So, believe me if you want, don't believe me if you want, eitherway it really makes no difference to me.

I swooped 106ft the other day on my fx99 - Longest one so far! I was totally stoked. Felt like I was soaring forever. And they say you can't get performance out of a 15 degree turn.:)

And people still wince when you mention a 190. I was able to swoop my Triathlon 220, and now my Stiletto 190 is a rocket. Fat Guys Unite!!!
