flynhi 0 #2 January 29, 2004 What time does it start?
skynole 0 #3 January 29, 2004 Last one started at 10am, so I'm guessing this one will start at the same time.
chayes12 0 #4 January 30, 2004 Registration will close at 9:30am and the comp will start at around 10, the same as last time. You can register the day before if you get here early. We will be using IPC distances and zone dimensions this time for the zone accuracy. If you are training, train these distances. For the distance rounds, we will be using IPC rules as well. skygod7777 0 #5 January 30, 2004 QuoteFor the distance rounds, we will be using IPC rules as well. advanced series or the pro series (5' gates or 10' gates) lata
NeedToJump 0 #6 January 30, 2004 I think both - 5' gates for advanced, 10' gates for intermediate.Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
chayes12 0 #7 January 30, 2004 Advanced competitors will have 5' gates and will need to go through the gates to score on the round. Intermediate competitors will have 10 foot gates, but will not need to go through the gates to score. However there is a 10 point bonus for intermediate competitors if they get the gate. There is always a chance here in DeLand to swoop with some of the worlds best and we are trying give the intermediate guys a handicap so they can compete against these guys and possibly take home some cash. There is also, of course, the safety issue. Hope to see you all here.
skynole 0 #8 January 30, 2004 Does the PST use IPC rules/dimensions? If not, does anyone know where I can get the IPC info? I couldn't seem to find it on their site. Thanks.

skynole 0 #10 January 30, 2004 By your answer then, am I right to assume that the PST rules are the same as the IPC?
diablopilot 2 #11 January 30, 2004 I believe so as it was the PST who sold the ide to the IPC, and set up the competition.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
chayes12 0 #12 January 31, 2004 5' foot gates for advanced and 10 foot gates for intermediate for the distance rounds. Intermediate guys will have to get the gates to start their distance round as well as the advanced class. We gotta start messurin somewhere.
ianmdrennan 2 #13 February 1, 2004 Hi, A couple of us are driving down from Atlanta and were wondering what the requirements were to compete in the intermediate (non of us are pro swoopers)? Thanks. chayes12 0 #18 February 3, 2004 The zone accuracy course will be into the wind for everyone. The intermediate distance will be into the wind and the advanced will be determined the day of the event. I know we would all like to see some 400ft + swoops. The scoring is set in the distance rounds so that intermediate compete against intermediate and advanced compete against advanced. In other words the maximum points in the distance rounds is 100 points for the longest swoop of the round in each class. The longest swoop in intermediate will get 100. The longest swoop in advanced will get 100 points for the same round to go towards your overall score. This is part of the handicap. If you are in intermediate and swoop 150ft, but it is the longest in your class, you will score the same points as the longest (400ft) swoop in the advanced class. 100 pts. flynhi 0 #20 February 3, 2004 I won't hold you to it but which way do you think advance will go? Which way has it gone in the past? Thanks Chris
NeedToJump 0 #21 February 3, 2004 Last time advanced went downwind for the distance swooping, but it depends on the winds and what everyone wants to do.Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
NeedToJump 0 #22 February 9, 2004 The meet went great and there were NO injuries at all! Pete Allum had a monster 418 foot swoop that he stood up! Jay Moledski had a 412 foot swoop. The standings as best I can remember are: 1) Jay Moledski 2) Tyler Lawson - he competed in Intermediate! 3) Ian Bobo 4) Thomas Hughes 5) Pete Allum ... 8) Nate Gilbert 9) Sonic 10) Kaz Sheeky 11) Ari Perelman There were a total of 27 competitors at the meet edited to add Lawson after TylerWind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
