PhreeZone 20 #2 January 30, 2004 Thats a small canopy there... max size of 120 to start with? Wow... I wonder how many people will buy this canopy and have it be out of their skills just since its the newest toy on the street. PhreeZone 20 #6 January 31, 2004 I'll do the 107... You got a rig that will fit me? A 107 will fall out of my Jav J2 on the step of the plane probally 107 is only 1.77:1. I do think I'll wait till spring and I get another 25 or 30 jumps in before taking you up on that one though. I know PD makes the Katana in 135's... I saw them putting one together not even 3 weeks ago when I was there! skygod7777 0 #7 January 31, 2004 my new ext should fit you when it gets in. my w-4 would too, but you may not quite be able to reach the pull out handle. i mean, i struggle to get it, and your way taller than me . but my ext should do ya good. hell i'd even be willing to let me rig get dirty if you jump my 85 . come on. you'll be ok i swear edit: oh yea, but i'm pretty sure that i asked for the 97, but we'll see. later
frankiebrina 0 #8 January 31, 2004 I heard that they soon will come out with the 135 and 150. 150 will be the largest size available. I don't know if I'm going to be able to wait for the 135!!!! I just might go 120 since thats whats they got to offer. Is there to much of a diffrence between the 2???
diablopilot 2 #9 January 31, 2004 What do you weigh?---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
skygod7777 0 #10 January 31, 2004 uh 15 square feet. i'd wait. i mean your on a sabre now (or your profile says that) and your going to downsize to a much more high performance canopy, and now your thinking about going down 2 sizes. that's a big difference. later

AggieDave 6 #12 January 31, 2004 I guess I as well am off the demo list, since I would need a 150. Lets see, a 120 would give me a 2.3:1 wingloading...SURE, I'll take one.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." diablopilot 2 #13 January 31, 2004 If your profile is up to date, I'd say wait for the 135 to hit the market, or get yourself another 135 to play with at least. I don't know what it is but the jump from 1.3ish to 1.5 is is a much bigger feeling gap than 1.5ish to 1.8ish. Other canopys to consider: Stiletto 135 although a 150 might be better as it looks like it will be your first Eliptical. The Stiletto is still one of the all time great canopys. Vision 132 or 150 newer Eliptical from Aerodyne, opens REAL nice. Nitro (from Hi Performance USA) or Nitron (from Precision) 135 or 150, both nice performers. Just some ideas. I definitely DO NOT recommend you buy a 120 at this point, as not only will you be increasing the wingloading by jumping down two sizes, and be switching to an eliptical planform, but the line lengths being shorter will also serve to make small inputs incredibly radical compared to your current frame of reference.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. lippy 918 #14 January 31, 2004 I requested a demo 150...Here's the email I got back. Quote Also - in the first batch we are releasing sizes up to the 120, with the 135 and 150 to follow later. A release date has not been set for those two sizes. I do apologize, as I know there are many people very interested in the larger Katanas, but our Engineering Department is adamant about not releasing a canopy until it's ready to go - no shortcuts. We will add your name to the list of the 150, and then be in touch again once those start to ship. Feel free to contact us with any questions you might have - we will do our best to help out! PhreeZone 20 #15 January 31, 2004 In addition to the other canopies suggested by JP, I'd look at the Samurai, the Crossfire2 and possibly the Vengence.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
ChasingBlueSky 0 #16 January 31, 2004 I've been told by a reliable source that the 135 and 150 should be out in a few months - they are still tweaking it._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
