Jumpmunki 0 #28 December 16, 2004 too much info by the way got any video from your swooping progression?
ianmdrennan 2 #29 December 16, 2004 Only some newer stuff. Way back when when I started this kinda stuff was hard to come by. A lot of people were still figuring it out or those that knew hadn't gotten the info out there yet. I think it's great how much info is getting out there though, the swoopers of tomorrow have a world of knowledge and advantage at their fingertips if they just put their egos aside and take it. yoink 321 #31 December 16, 2004 Just a quick note to say that this thread is fantastic... In my opinion this is exactly what this forum should be about - feedback, encouragement and advice with a minimum of flaming or arguing. Nice Thanks to all who are helping us newbies! skreamer 1 #32 December 17, 2004 A good tip I got given at Eloy last year was the importance of breathing. I was holding my breath when setting up which was making me tense up. You can see in the experienced guys body position when they are swooping that they are relaxed in a controlled focused kind of way. Will
ianmdrennan 2 #33 December 17, 2004 Will, That's a great piece of advice I always forget to pass on. Lekker boet. Have a good Xmas my friend and let me know when you're going to be in the atlanta area. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team

I have been playing it safe and waiting until I can get 1 on 1 canopy piloting lessons. Chuck helped me with canopy selection and I'm VERY happy. (I does have severe swooping abilities) I choose to use caution with 90 & 180 landings as to my lack of experience. I HAVE been working on accuracy do to needing an out and sudden problems with traffic. *After* getting better at that, then I'll work on swoop._______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/
 Jumpmunki 0 #36 January 11, 2005 i'm taking a step back from my 90 approaches and going back to straight in doub;es till i nail my flare hieght for optimum distance i think i've cut a few corners previously that i shouldn't have there isn't ay quick way to learn to swoop lol but who's gonna tell anyone who wants to learn with 100 jumps to slow down, doesn't matter how many people do i still went ahead... been lucky i guess.... you only get wiser with time ... be safe mate and all the best in what you want to do
 ianmdrennan 2 #37 January 11, 2005 Quotei'm taking a step back from my 90 approaches and going back to straight in doub;es till i nail my flare hieght for optimum distance i think I'm grinning like the Cheshire Cat Quotethere isn't way quick way to learn to swoop lol Amen brother. I just witnessed, this weekend, another jumper with approximately 200 jumps do a 180 into the ground and was driven off in an ambulance. Normal scenario: Multiple warnings, small canopy, etc. I've refrained from posting in the incidents thread until I have all the details about the jumper, history and injuries but it bares mentioning in the meantime. On a more positive note, ship some more video our way sometime. We'd all love to see how you're progressing. I've started dumping footage from this past year to make another vid. I must admit though, I'm struggling to be motivated as I just seem to have no down time. Stay tuned, I'll post it up as soon as I get it all done (at this rate it looks like march time frame ). Stay safe.
