ramon 0 #26 April 20, 2004 very good point. My first off landing loaded above 2.0 was in a long driveway. had to turn slightly low because of telephone lines you could not see till like 400 '..that taught me a lesson...."Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce. voodew1 0 #27 April 21, 2004 I bought a Cobalt 120 when I had 105 jumps wing loading 1.4 without weights, I have always worn at least 8LBS. I am lucky to be alive as I stubbed my toe on landing one time. The canopy is great, opens, flies, flares, sinks in, lands off all with ease from the get go---went from a Sabre 170. Becareful-learn flat turns a cobalt will do an almost no altitude loss flat turn 180 The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

I too went from a Sabre 170 to a Cobalt 135 with about 150 jumps. I now have about 650 and i am still on the same canopy. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. bobsled92 0 #29 April 21, 2004 My past jumps have been practicing with 1/2 brake approach (Avoiding the other 11 people/jumpers) , keeping track of stale point. AND I am in the process of getting classes with Heath Richardson at CrossKeys. Thank you for the "positive" feedback and advice. Snowflake 0 #30 April 22, 2004 Alright...you bought it your gonna jump it so be please be careful. I would suggest getting Canopy Control 150 from Skydive U(it's pretty much a begginers self paced canopy control course). I haven't obtained a copy of Brian Germains new book but I bet it's very informative also. Brains Voodew I'm in the same boat as you. I went from a Spectre 170 to a Cobalt 150@1.47(almost went to a 135), but we jump year round and our average of 200 or so jumps a year make our cases a little different then Bobsleds. Also Brains I noticed you didn't mention your little scare when you first got the 135(ya really shouldn't kick a guy there during a skydive)
bobsled92 0 #31 April 23, 2004 Thanks for responding. I have been jumping it since last week and taking it easy while enjoying HI openings. I'm just waiting for a response from CrossKeys/Skydive U so I can set up a "1st available" class time with Heath Richardson._______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/

Layton 0 #33 May 2, 2004 i enjoy your posts.you seem to bevery knowledgable about the sport. i will get my new saber 2 135 tomorrow and am kinda nervous about jumping a smaller canopy than i am jumping now.right now i am jumping a friends saber 2 150.she just joined the army and told me to jump hers until i am ready to jump my new one.i went with the saber 2 because everything i read and heard about the saber was that they were one of the safest canopies out there.i bought a 135 because im 6ft2 and weigh about 140 soaking wet.so anyways just wanted to tell ya that i enjoy your posts.blues Layton***no good deed goes unpunished
