namdrib 0 #1 July 7, 2004 Does anyone know the location of ANYONE from Icarus Canopies? I have been trying to get ahold of them for quite some time. We, (*Skydive Alabama) placed an order with them for a canopy that was due in May!!! NO CANOPY, NO CONTACT, NO CALL BACK, NO REPLY on email. If there is anyone that can tell me how to get in touch with Wyatt or a rep from Icarus, please let me know. I have a customer that has every right to get thoroughly pissed off and would like to avoid this if at all possible. Any information would be greatly appreciated!Unknowing attempting to take out all 4 wheeled vehicles remotely close to the landing area!

jose 0 #4 July 8, 2004 My experience with Icarus, was horrible. They take forfuckingever to make your canopy. They lie to you on a constant basis about when your canopy is going to arrive. No one talks to anyone else in the company about the issues they are having. My canopy was made in 15 weeks and had a fucked up lineset, you think that if would be perfect with the amount of time it took the people to make it. When I went to return it within the 30 return policy, all I got was flack from a rep that never flew my canopy, but swore that it was just fine. I got my money back and will never buy a canopy from the manufacturer again, only private sales or stores with stock on hand. If you have a rep with the name of Simon, use a different rep. Simon lies out his ass. *off soap box again*
beavdog 0 #5 July 8, 2004 Simon is the owner of Icarus I believe....I had some trouble getting my XF2 from them at the beginning of the year. He was the only one that seemed to get things rolling for me....I ordered my canopy on Oct 24 and received it the last week of January.... Here's to the Breezes that blows through the Trezzez..... piisfish 140 #6 July 8, 2004 my experience with Icarus (Europe) is good, the only neg point is that I received a mail to say my canopy was ready, 2 weeks later I go down to Spain to pick it up and jump there for the week and I get an info that I don't have the Icarus logos on the stabs, because they ran out of stock. Much better for me, I find the canopy much nicer without . Besides that the Icarus people in Empuria are very friendly and helpful, specially Martin.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

jose 0 #8 July 8, 2004 Simon is DEFINTELY not the owner of Icarus. He, as I just found out, WAS a rep. He is no longer with the company. Big surprise there.
jose 0 #9 July 8, 2004 I was finally informed at the end of me 15 week wait that the reason for it was the same issue you had. My canopy had been made for quite some time, but was just sitting there waiting for the logo to be put on it. It apparently sat there for many weeks, and the only reason I found this out, is I called Spain myself. This is why I say that the reps will lie to you. They knew my canopy was ready, but didnt have the logo on it, so they just told me it wasnt. IMO that is HORRIBLE customer service. I should, and finally did have the right to request it sent to me without the logos. As I said, the only way I was able to do this was to contact the factory in Spain myself. All the rep did was take my order and my money.

CanuckInUSA 0 #11 July 8, 2004 QuoteMy canopy had been made for quite some time, but was just sitting there waiting for the logo to be put on it. And the funny thing is that the logo will come off all on it's own within it's first 100 jumps. QuoteIMO that is HORRIBLE customer service. Obviuosly some people have some issues with Icarus and their lack of customer service. I have yet to experience this problem, but then again I haven't asked for anything from Icarus ... yet. I do like the end product though. I am on my 2nd Crossfire2 canopy (in case you didn't know I picked up Jim's 119 off of him) and I love how the Crossfire2 performs. Often I hear or see other people flying different wings complain about this or that and not being able to do this or that with their canopy and I think to myself "hey I don't have those problems". And then I'm left to wonder, am I just a better canopy pilot (probably not) or am I just flying a better wing? Maybe it's one or the other and maybe it's a combination of the two. There are a lot of good canopies out there. I'm just very happy with my Crossfire2 canopy. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
johnny1488 1 #12 July 9, 2004 Simon is not the owner of Icarus, He is a share holder. He is still a share holder. He is still with the company but has not had an active role for about the last year. meatbomb 0 #13 July 19, 2004 I have found Icarus to be nothing but immensely helpful (not to mention they make the most kick-ass canopies on the planet - even I can swoop now! ). I ordered my XF2 169 (stock) on Jan 27th this year...By the time my order got to the factory, the stock canopy was gone, so they made me a custom coloured one, and I flew it for the first time on Feb 6th...That's a turn round of 10 (count em) days, including international delivery! Check out this thread: XFire2 169! It will be mine, Oh yes, it will be mine!--- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
PD126r 0 #14 July 21, 2004 I ordered a stock XF2 119 last spring thorugh Sqaure1 and specified that it was to be shipped to Deland (it was to be picked upo there and brought back to Europe). The schmuck (lucky you that I don't remember your name, wanker!) at the Chicago office f##### it all up and sent the canopy to california, and therefore my guy in Deland had to leave the states without my XF2. The Chicago-moron didn't sound like this mistake bothered him at all, and wasn't really interested in fixing the problem. Kate at Square1 helped me by contacting Simon and explain the whole mess. Simon called me within a few hours and offered express air mail directly to europe, or if I rather wanted to, they could make me a brand new custom colored CF2 at the Spain plant and have it ready within three weeks. At the end of the month I had my brand new white and blue Crossfire2 delivered at my door! So: Simon prooved to be a good guy- that wanker in Chicago, however... How do guys like that get jobs!?
