skyhighkiy 0 #1 September 5, 2004 I know I posted this over in safety and training, but I just saw "swooping and canopy control" and thought "hey, I should post there" Sorry! anyway Does anyone have any good sites or ebooks I should download to learn about working my canopy? I practiced a bunch of things I learned from some documents I read a couple nights ago and noticed an amazing amount of change in accuracy w/ my landings and flying canopy right next to friends. DEFINATELY seeking as much information as possible about kinesthetics for freefly and documents on canopy control. Please, feed my hunger!! "will work for jumps" BE THE BUDDHA! skymama 37 #5 September 7, 2004 A couple years ago I bought a book and video from Skydive U that was very helpful when I was just starting out. Does anyone know if they are still making those? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
nbblood 0 #6 September 7, 2004 Here's a good link for canopy control. The Bood of Canopy Control by Bryan Burke. Blues, NathanBlues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
PhreeZone 20 #7 September 8, 2004 Bryan Burke's article is a really good resource to read. But NO High Proformance pilot should be with out reading Brian Germains book. My GF with less then 50 jumps has learned so much about canopy skills that shes going to be light years ahead of where I was at her jumps mainly due to "The Parachute and its Pilot". Its a must read, re-read and re-re-read book.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
mnischalke 0 #8 September 8, 2004 I agree 110%. Brian's book is right on the cutting edge of canopy control, and no one should be without one. If you have a chance to attend one of his full seminars, I would recommend it over any other way to spend money on skydiving. Listening to the author expound on canopy control subjects in an interactive setting takes the book to the next level. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
