proswooper 2 #27 October 4, 2004 QuoteAnother newbie Q...hope you dont mindIts hard to tell from the pic if you are on the rears or toggles...or both.... LOOKING AT THE PIC I AM STILL ON RISERS WITH THE TOGGLES IN FIRM GRIP. ..in the pic your arms are at full extension(assuming if your body was upright...I'd guess approx.1/3 to 1/2 riser input)...leaving the rest to keep the swoop going and pull up at the end... This is the 1st pic of a "lazy boy" I have seen...in other swoop pic's one can usually see the toggle/riser reserve used to finish...this pic sorta leaves me guessing... GUESSING WHAT SPECIFICALLY ? Can you/would you give a newbie explanation of set up and progression of inputs throught the swoop?THE SET UP IS NO DIFFERENT TO MY USUAL SET UP FOR A SWOOP UNTILL I AM ABOUT TO TOUCH WATER, AT WHICH POINT I START EXTENDING MY LEGS OUT IN FRONT OF ME WITH MY TOES POINTED. FLYING SO THAT MY FEET MAKE A GENTLE CONTACT WITH THE WATER I THEN STRAIGHTEN MY BODY OUT AND LOOK BACK THROUGH THE CANOPY AT WHERE THE PILOT CHUTE WOULD BE.ADDING A LITTLE INPUT ONCE I AM FULLY EXTENDED TO MAINTAIN LEVEL FLIGHT. I TRY STAY IN THIS POSITION UNTILL I AM APPROACHING THE END OF THE POND AT WHICH POINT I THEN FLAIR AS NORMAL AND STAND UP (SOMETIMES TAKING ONE OR TWO STEPS DEPENDING ON THE WIND CONDITIONS!) Dont worry!!!...I am just curious (meow)....I have NO plans of attempting any swoops etc...making safe stand up landings are my thing NO WORRIES, I HOPE I AM ANSWERING YOUR QUESTION(S)
