My new Sabre2 170

Recommended Posts

Finally got to jump my new sabre2 170 Sunday and Monday..
All I can say is wow, 1st jump did not finish flair had to roll it out. Next 5 were all stand-up....Man this thing has tons of flair once you figure out how it likes to be flaired which was very easy....Toogle inputs created very positive movements in the canopy, have never felt this comfortable or safe under any other canopy. Will turn quick enough to spin up some line twists, did it up high. Openings were soft but not on heading, but I think that may be more body position than anything...had 1-2 twists on 5 of 6 jumps.
Overall I am very very satisfied with this new canopy....
Will keep updating as I get more jumps on it....

My wife has the same canopy and I jump it from time to time for something different. It's a very cool canopy and have had some of the sweetest openings on it. The off heading openings may go away but it's nada to worry about. Line twists may be body postion or packing and final line stow length.
Enjoy it, it's gets better with every jump.
Safe landings.

Courteney.
...drags me down like some sweet gravity!!!

Cool, over half of my jumps are on Sabre2s of various sizes and have had a great experience with them (except for the openings ;)) It was more fun than a Spectre to fly but it took me about 5 jumps to get respectable landings out of them, unlike the Spectre... I'll just have to see how it compares to my "new-to-me" Safire this weekend. :)

I've got a little over 500 jumps on Sabre 2's, they provide a very stable platform to get the basics, and progress toward the discipline of your choice.

With some good canopy coaching you can "just fly it", you can learn to swoop it, you can do a little CRW with it, and you can sink it in for accuracy. Plus that 170 is in high demand and will hold its value so you won't loose much or anything at all when you go to resell it. Enjoy it.

Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

Scott Miller told me to stick my feet together during the opening. Try it, it really helps you stay on heading as the canopy is "searching" for air as it is inflating.

(I have about 250 jumps on my Sabre 2 170 and love it!)

because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Yup. On deployment, if I keep my legs together and fly my openings - makes a big difference. I love my S2. :)
