The loadings werent that much different since I lost about 15lbs in between. I found the front riser dives on the SAM much longer (I know its not that hard to get a longer dive then the ST). I'm still loosing a bit of weight, and my next canopy will be a SAM 135, hopefully at a 1.7 load (or 1.78 if I dont loose any weight, which is still in the ballpark of what I want). I'm not a airlock blind devotee: I see it as an added level of stability in moderate turbulance, but would not base a jump/no jump judegement on that. It probably (well, more then probably) also adds regidity to the nose which also help flights caracteristics. But if canopy are getting thrown around due to turbulance, I'm standing down.Remster
flyhi 24 #29 November 11, 2004 QuoteWhat happened to the larger sizes of the Katana. Its been an awful long wait for them I agree. Called them up and they gave me the, "We are testing it now and will not release it until we are confident yadda yadda yadda..." Hard to believe they did testing on and released five different sizes, but making that leap from 120 to 135 takes another year of testing.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. ianmdrennan 2 #30 November 11, 2004 QuoteHard to believe they did testing on and released five different sizes, but making that leap from 120 to 135 takes another year of testing. Pretty simple. The larger sizes don't scale up and still retain the same characteristics, hence they require additional changes and therefore testing. isaiah85 0 #32 November 11, 2004 We are still testing, like Ian said it's not as easy as just scaling up the smaller sizes. Until R+D is completely satisfied with the bigger sizes we just have to wait.

Widgeon 0 #38 November 12, 2004 Wait a little longer because the Kitana 135 and 150 will be out in a few months. They're test jumping them right now at PD.
AndyMan 7 #39 November 12, 2004 Quote Wait a little longer because the Kitana 135 and 150 will be out in a few months. That's what they told me two years ago, and a year ago. If it suddenly appears before I make a decision I'll certainly consider it, but I am definately NOT going to wait for it. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. Yeah, that's what I was told before buying my XF2 as well, PD was saying "it's gonna be out real soon and its gonna be sweet" trying to get me to wait. I'm glad I didn't wait, or I'd still be waiting. That was I think, nearly a year ago.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
