Canuck 0 #1 December 10, 2004 Just wondering if people are actually ordering them, or if it's still just the handful of Atair people jumping them. Seems to me like the company is fading away... Canuck

grega 0 #3 December 11, 2004 probably Atair USA is really fading away, though original atair from slovenia, just made something new. Hmm how should i say,... something radical ! "George just lucky i guess!"

garywainwright 0 #5 December 11, 2004 i did a few jumps on a radical 95. Very nice canopy - katana esque. Not cross braced or air locked - the only unusual thing was that the end cells were slpit into 3 rather than 2 - a bit like the original BTshttp://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
roq 0 #6 December 12, 2004 I have one Onyx and I jumped it load at 2,4 The canopy have a crossed panels (ribs) it is sewn along whole the cord of the top skin and bottom skin without any other vertical rib besides the normal vertical rib in the center cell. The lines is vectran The nose is open, with finishes in triangle and not partial closed like other cross-braced canopys The platform have to AR 2,7/1 and real volume that I measured is 74,7 Sq ft The opennings is very soft, like the coventional nine cell zp and the canopy is sensitive to harness inputs. Some snivel that demands to drive the canopy in this phase. In flight: Very sensitive canopy Steep Glide Ratio Aggressive and a few oversteer in turns. Very low pressure of front risers Negative arc recovery The manufacture and concept is the habitual great quality Atair, very good workmanship and top concept together with the ZP Gelvenor fabric that guarantee a top performance and long life for the Onyx. I think that this canopy is in the evolution of the modern cross braced canopys and I think that has potential for to compete, with top pilot, in the swoop competitions with any current cross braced canopy. SkymonkeyONE 4 #7 December 12, 2004 Anyone wanting the same concept actually taken past bare-prototype form should feel free to contact Flight Concepts and ask about the Riot. It's a similarly-braced nine cell that does everything better than an Onyx. Joe Bennet will likely compete under it next year.
roq 0 #8 December 12, 2004 Hi Chuck My Onyx 75 is the last and final Atair Onyx version. This canopy have a better behavior than the first onyx versions in flying, openings, swoops and landings.! Roq

roq 0 #10 December 12, 2004 I have physical problems in my spine (because of an accident that I had in 1980) and I cannot make swoop competitions because of that Now I make few jumps because of this problems Roq

grega 0 #12 December 14, 2004 Sorry, didn't know that. But that doesn't help us in skydiving much, unless we are in military... "George just lucky i guess!"
