Kolla 0 #1 February 9, 2005 Jonathan Tagle of the PD Factory team just broke the current distance record, right on Shannon's heals. I don't have the offical number yet but will post that here as soon as I hear back from my boss Kevin Schafer (who is at the World Cup in Lk Wales right now). Go PD Boys - you rock!! AggieDave 6 #3 February 9, 2005 Kolla...how about some video with those numbers you're going to post? That's badass! Was this on one of the factory team velocity canopies or on some other black magic prototype?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Gafneyjr 0 #8 February 10, 2005 I have just got word that it was 479.666 feet (146.24m). The worlds longest swoop. Well done Jonathon.

ianmdrennan 2 #10 February 10, 2005 5 ft gates. No idea on wind conditions, but I believe it can't be in more than a 5 mph downwind (or something like that) to count. Well done JT. That is one long ass swoop. Anyone know the canopy size, I'm assuming 103(but he's a smaller guy so who knows)? ianmdrennan 2 #16 February 10, 2005 Kolla, Can you give us official confirmation of the distance? Also size and loading of the canopy would be sweet too. Congrats to JT again. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team

Kolla 0 #18 February 10, 2005 Hey Ian! Gafney got the numbers right - 479.66 ft (146.2 m) Jonathan was jumping a standard Velocity 90, wingloading at 2.5, with HMA lines. Due to a "wardrobe malfunction" he wasn't able to remove his bag & pilot chute (only the slider) - makes the record all the more impressive! skygod7777 0 #19 February 10, 2005 QuoteJonathan was jumping a standard Velocity 90, wingloading at 2.5, with HMA lines. 2.5, wow, that seams kind of high for what everyone else is jumping. Canuck 0 #20 February 10, 2005 And here we go... Now everybody that was selling their tiny shit and upsizing to a 2.0 wingload will start downsizing again... Canuck
ianmdrennan 2 #21 February 10, 2005 LOL no shit. I jump a 90 at 2.1 and I cannot fathom how he did 479 feet. Personally I struggle to break 320. Truely awesome performance. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
ccowden 0 #22 February 10, 2005 I hear ya Ian. I am stuck in a rut of averaging about 410ft. Guess I need to step it up. Oh wait, did I say 410? I meant 210.

Blue ones, Kolla I didn't know that velo's came with HMA now. Are they non-cascade lines? Is this only for the factory team, sponsors and test jumpers? Have they found that HMA helps with longer swoops (ie less drag?) Congrats to JT - nice way to remove the 'new guy' tag from your standing on the team._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Kolla 0 #24 February 10, 2005 The canopy is standard. The HMA lines are not.Blue Skies Magazine
jumperconway 0 #25 February 10, 2005 From what I've heard most factory guys are using the HMA in comps. The new JVX comes with 2 sets of HMA standard but will use Vectran if you prefer.
