It's described in Brian Germain's The Parachute And Its Pilot. Since I don't have my copy in front of me and I've never attempted one, I'll refrain from posting a most-likely-incorrect explanation.

Yes, I remember reading that. He also mentioned that it could be a pretty risky move if enough speed isn't built up. Since we're on the topic, if someone could elaborate, please do. I've been curious about trying this (at altitude, of course).

Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!

It certainly isn't in a high energy state after that maneuver. I think its kind of cool though, that you worked on it enough to be able to bring it that low. Not something i think ill ever add to my skill set, but cool none the less.

Thank you for acknowledging the work and planning it took to get that video. I have done that maneuver multiple times on more than 300 jumps before doing it below 2000 feet. I mounted 2 other altimeters on my rig so I could try to get a better understanding of the altitude loss and flight path. Then there was the process of bringing it down to under 100 feet. On a side note I stopped doing the maneuver below 2000 ft again until I can finish it with more energy more consistently.
