dzjohn 0 #1 May 2, 2005 Just wondering about canopy loadings and what sort of caonpy size would be the best idea for my self for my first rig. I am about 5'4 feet tall and weigh about 68kg's. Canopy control has been great up till now as well.
CloudOnMyTongue 0 #2 May 2, 2005 Well everyone will tell you to ask an instructor, and to never trust anything someone on the internet tells you to do. It's a good idea because nobody here has seen you jump or knows anything about your skill level. But generally: You want your first canopy to be at a wing loading no higher than 1 to 1. Use the wing loading calculator located at the top of this page to figure it out for yourself. Don't forget to add 14 kilos (Tonto edit - That's about 30 lbs..) for the weight of the gear you'll be wearing.
