CanuckInUSA 0 #5 June 13, 2005 QuoteHey whats up, just watched the today show, nothing on swooping today, whats up with that. Yes I wasted my time this morning watching that stupid "Today" show on NBC this morning. Instead of swooping they had women having babbies in the late 30s talk, some stupid sore loser high school student who didn't follow his high school graduation dress code and wasn't given his diploma, then they gave it to him but that wasn't good enough as his special interest needs obviously weren't met, then they had some wedding crap, more American Idol crap, a segment on RVs and ending it all with some cook making food. Well when you compare what they showed this morning (women's baby issues, weddings, some special interest shmuck, American Idol crap, aging baby boomer RV talks and food) you can see the demographics of the audience they are trying to reach and well swooping doesn't fall into the same category as all this other crap they had on. Ashtanga 0 #6 June 15, 2005 Unfortunately the swooping did not air but the accident in Sarasota did. Just goes to show that most people are more interested in the incidents of our sport rather than actual "sport" itself.
CanopyPiloting 0 #7 June 16, 2005 Yes, it was rescheduled again because it got bumped for a bigger story. The studio said they would call me with a new air date and I will post it to www.canopypiloting.com
CanuckInUSA 0 #8 June 16, 2005 QuoteYes, it was rescheduled again because it got bumped for a bigger story. We know it's NOT your fault Jim, but all I've got to say is "Bastards!!!" Swooping is way cooler than whatever NBC can come up with. But we already knew this. Oh by the way, the CPC is an awesome thing. What a great way to prepare us for swoop competitions. The CPC has been awesome. I know attendance is relatively low in each division but I expect to see it grow and grow over the next few years as regional pilots improve their skills and realize how accessible it is. When swoop competitions began around 1996 there were only an average of 8-12 pilots per event. The CPC is having an outstanding year and it will only get better. Consider this, there are more "S-class" competitors competing on the circuit this year then there are "Pro" pilots competing on the Pro Swooping Tour...ever. When you combine the "S-class" & "Pro class" together you see we have doubled our active and qualified competitors. The CPC is the competion arena for all pilots wishing to get onto the Pro Tour. Soon, the value of being on the "Pro Tour" will be higher than ever...
 ianmdrennan 2 #18 June 16, 2005 It's a great time to be a canopy pilot. Canopies are getting better and better. Pilots are getting better and better. The competition field is tougher than ever but balanced with the distribution of knowledge. I think the CPC is going to push that even further too.
