And reduce the odds of a lineover by keeping the brake lines tighter. -We don't use the DBS with slider up because if it is properly set the canopy will open in a stall and fly backwards. -The DBS offers no prevention from line overs, the tailgate does that in slider down and the slider plus other tricks do that in slider up.Memento Audere Semper

masterrigger1 2 #28 June 10, 2005 QuoteQuoteyou would have to talk to joe bennet on this one. i havent personally tried it, but he has and i even talked with him about it last night. he said he always moves the cat eye 2 inches obove where the factory set it and it opens alot better.... It is actually 2 1/4 inches on his canopy (90 Velo).I made him change it when we put a Technora line set on last year. The Veloicity Canopies are set too shallow and this causes a couple of different problems. I noticed the problem on a video of a cutaway (Gary Harbid Velo 84, It is on this site somewhere). He had claimed that he had a toggle fire. I slowed it down frame by frame and found it not to be true. It does look that way at first. If you watch the video, watch how the right side pressurizes first and then flies around the left side before it inflates and starts flying like the right did.The deeper brake setting keeps the canopy more stable while it is pressurizing. The bottom line is that when you put the velo's in a deeper setting, the spin-ups basically go away. When we reline Velo's, the brake setting is adjusted when you get it back. I had like 20 jumps on that canopy and it flew like shit. I am sure that not all Xaos canopies fly bad so I choose to not make an opinion of a canopy with such little experience with it. And why is it all your posts are so negative?
 Prev 1 2 Next Page 2 of 2 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
