josheezammit 0 #1 November 22, 2005 So i am interested in down sizing from a 220 triathalon to a 190 sabre 2, I load the 220 at 1.25 and if i get the 190 it will be 1.43. I have 341 jumps on the triathalon, and she is getting a little tired, she was used when i got her, and I was interested in hearing y'alls input on skill level/wing loading/josh is a retard and should never be allowed the downsize oppurtunity/just what you think in the meantime input. I would like to put at least 400 total jumps on the tri before she goes, to a better place.......speak on it! Ahh, what a wonderful world.
marks 0 #2 November 22, 2005 just stay current over the winter. unless somone on here watches your landings on a regular basis, i dont see how they could give you the righ info on weather or not you should.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 November 23, 2005 a 190 Sabre2 won't be a big step for you. You will actually find that it has a lot more flare power than that tri you are currently jumping. Chuck
dharma1976 0 #4 November 23, 2005 thats what I found even dropping from a Sabre2 210 to a Sabre 2 190 much more flare power...now add in the triathalon transition and voila, much much more flare power.... Cheers Davehttp://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing. Brains 2 #5 November 23, 2005 Quoteunless somone on here watches your landings on a regular basis, i dont see how they could give you the righ info on weather or not you should. I watch them on a regular basis. He should UPSIZE In all seriousness Josh, i think you would find the Sabre2 to be a great canopy for you. And like chuck said, tons more lift down low. We have plenty of them around the dz, have you flown any of them yet?? Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
davelepka 4 #6 November 23, 2005 If you've recently been told "You're going to die flying your canopy that way", or "You're on the list", then do not downsize. If you're in control of the Tri 220, sell it ASAP, and jump the Sabre2. The extra two cells will be your new best friends.
josheezammit 0 #7 November 23, 2005 I have jumped the 190 three times now, and I love it, in regards to what chuck said the flare, it was incredible compared to my triathalon, I tried flaring it like my triathalon, and i found that i did not even extend my arms 3/4 through the stroke of the flare and got the same amount of flare as i was used to with the tri, I loved the increase in speed, not too much, not too little but just right, well i guess kevlar is gonna get a call from me pretty soon, and all my freaking money too Ahh, what a wonderful world. Brains 2 #8 November 23, 2005 Your canopy control has improved 10X just this year. I think you will be having a blast for another year or two on a Sabre2. And remember, if you need your new canopy shipped to eloy for you, kim and i are always here. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. CanuckInUSA 0 #10 November 23, 2005 QuoteSo i am interested in down sizing from a 220 triathalon to a 190 sabre 2. I have 341 jumps on the triathalon, and she is getting a little tired, she was used when i got her. I once had a Triathlon 220 and downsized to a Sabre2 190 and you're putting way more jumps on your Triathlon than I did with mine. So I'm sure you know it better than I did. But you're going to love the Sabre2. It's a great canopy to learn with. By the way (in case this is one of those small world scenarios), my old Triathlon was blue, purple, blue, blue, blue, purple, blue. Tell me yours is different otherwise you just may be jumping my old canopy. But as I said, you know it better than I did. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
josheezammit 0 #11 November 23, 2005 ya mine is navy, navy, navy, white, red, white, red, and then some dirt in there too Ahh, what a wonderful world.
Zoter 0 #12 November 23, 2005 I dropped from a 215 pretty much straight to a 168 without any problems at all.... I did spend a deal of time on the 215 on double front riser approaches to speed up the approach.......which in hindsight got me more used to the increased speed 'straight in' on a smaller canopy
JumpShipGypsy 0 #13 November 24, 2005 George has a very nice Sabre 190 for sale. It opens fine and flies great. If he sill has it when im ready to buy i might buy it.
josheezammit 0 #14 December 3, 2005 So in my efforts to find a new canopy for me one of my friends Ryan let me jump his 189 safire and it was a great ride, i loaded it up at 1.46 and the toggle pressure and riser pressure seemed less then the saber 2 and the openings while soft were way quicker then what i was used to with my triathalon. I put a total of three jumps on it, and i enjoyed it. What are the big differences to yall between the safire and sabre 2? Ahh, what a wonderful world.
