freeflydrew 0 #1 May 30, 2006 It's one move, and I think only one person has done it so far, but I could be totally wrong... can you guess what it is? (I have a clip of it and can post later today)
Spizzzarko 0 #2 May 30, 2006 Is it the "Brain"? How about the "Snail"? The "Flying Squirrell"? Or the "Hamburger"? Is it the "Rusty Trombone"? The "Cleaveland Steamer"? Could it be the "One Eyed Surprise"? Please tell us, as we are just beside ourselves with anticipation... It better not be mooth either.
Tonto 1 #3 May 30, 2006 It's not the old "Fly through the freeway underpass" is it? Yawn... tIt's the year of the Pig.
freeflydrew 0 #4 May 30, 2006 no, not the old overpass vid... Jeffro just sent me this clip from europe. he's calling it the miracle man http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=3953
ntacfreefly 0 #5 May 30, 2006 I thought there was a vid of him doing that in Eloy last year? Regardless that's sick To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders. ~ Lao-Tzu It's all good, they're my brothers ~ Mariann Kramer

outlawphx 1 #7 May 30, 2006 Nice. Is the tricky part that you can't finish your flare with the toggles? Otherwise, I've seen jumpers turn 180 and back before. Forgive my swooping freestyle ignorance, because that's 1000% harder than any landing I could do.
Velopilot 0 #8 May 30, 2006 the link isn't working for me.
freeflydrew 0 #9 May 30, 2006 QuoteOtherwise, I've seen jumpers turn 180 and back before. he's doing a complete 360 rotation, not turning 180 and back... thats the tricky part
pilotdave 0 #10 May 31, 2006 That is SO 2005. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=2547 Dave
AggieDave 6 #12 May 31, 2006 You can make your canopy actually do a flip? A full on forward flip? Not just you through the risers, but fly the entire canopy and yourself up and around. If that was possible, that would be crazy...who knows, maybe someday someone will have a canopy that has enough speed and such to pull something like that off.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." piisfish 140 #13 May 31, 2006 Quoteno, not the old overpass vid... SkymonkeyONE 4 #14 May 31, 2006 Yep, I was going to say that he's done that move before. The cool thing about that newest clip is finishing the move standing on that little island.

Rooky 0 #19 June 9, 2006 You can see him flaring after the 180 before completing the 360 and twisting the risers. I think the tricky part ist timing and correct toggle input at the right moment (flying backwards too). No additional corrections possible after that, I assume. Definetly a "wow"-one
audacium 0 #20 June 9, 2006 As mentioned, paragliders can flip, parachutes cannot because they are not efficient wings compared to a paraglider. Speed alone is not the key, it is the wing keeping the energy which he got from an energy-inducing manoeuvre, and that is why you need an efficient wing. -- Eduard
swilson 0 #21 June 11, 2006 If you're talking about a doing a barrel roll about the roll axis, I would argue that it IS possible with a skydiving parachute. Brian Germain has done it on video with (I believe) a Samurai. If you're talking about a forward roll about the pitch axis, that is probably an entirely different animal... Either way, like you said, energy management is key.
shadowswoop97 0 #22 June 12, 2006 jeffro pulled the miracle man off at the Mile High Canopy Cup on June 10th, he executed it perfectly and went on to win the event and the overall competition. It is now officialy the hardest move, nice one Jeffro
ReyNier 0 #23 June 13, 2006 FYI: the little Island is inside the MUGA, Skydive Empuriabrava's Pond and location of the annual Beach Boogie (where the video of Jeffro was taken) and the King of Swoop (26.-30.07.2006). One of the planets nicest swooping playgrounds. The Muga island was only 10m long and 5m wide. Nice plan B Jeffro!
