freeflydemon 0 #1 July 22, 2006 I have a crossfire 139 (@1.85). I'm thinking in buy longer risers (24), I really think my risers are too short and are very uncomfortably, when I'm flying on my rears. I have a few questions about it..... I was told the front risers pressure will increase (sorry for my ignorance....but it means that I will have to pull them harder?) I have the stock jav-odd velcroless risers (don't know how long are them). Anyone knows if I have to make any modification to my canopy (brake lines or new trim)? Anyone flying a xfire with 24 risers? 24 risers could change my excellent xfire openings? where can I find velcroless 24 risers (websites please)? blue ones
AggieDave 6 #2 July 22, 2006 QuoteAnyone knows if I have to make any modification to my canopy (brake lines or new trim)? Nope, the length from the guide ring to the top of the riser is typically the same across all sizes. Its the rest of the riser between that and the 3-rings that's longer or shorter. So brake length may only be effected by the change in the toggle stroke that you're used to. Quotewhere can I find velcroless 24 risers (websites please)? Anywhere. Although some manufactures offer 24" some 25" and many will make to order. Pick the risers you like and order them. I have a Wings and I just ordered some 25" Velocity Sports risers, for instance. Quote24 risers could change my excellent xfire openings? Shouldn't. Basically, what I've noticed between shorter and longer risers is a different feel to riser maneuvers, but nothing drastic. The recovery arc is slightly longer the longer you go, but not crazily so. Sunrise Rigging (Wings) has a set of 29" risers if you want them. Apparently someone ordered them, they built them, then they decided that they didn't want them. So Wings is sort of stuck with them.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
dharma1976 0 #3 July 22, 2006 I love my 24's it was a subtle change from the 21's but the biggest thing I noticed about it was starting the turn from full arm extension was easier than from partially bent arms I have about 100 jumps on em now on a crossfire 2 129 and 119 btw I have flown 18's 20's 21's and 24's Cheers Davehttp://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing. AggieDave 6 #5 July 23, 2006 QuoteIsn't that too much drag?? Hell if I know. Aparently someone ordered them that way then decided not to pay for them or buy them. So Wings has them laying around just incase someone actually wants some super long risers. I'm a big guy and I'm not 100% sure I could reach the slider with risers that long.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
