Brains 2 #4 July 26, 2006 QuoteQuote jvx seems to be pulling the results huh? Canopy or pilot? Stu and Nick bot just got their card this year. I think that says a lot about the canopy. However, this is the second comp where i don't see a single PD factory guy in the standings, were they there??? Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. AggieDave 6 #7 July 26, 2006 Quote Stu and Nick bot just got their card this year. I think that says a lot about the canopy. To me I think it says a whole lot about the pilot. Canopy choice is canopy choice and there are obvious canopy choice considerations to be competitive on different levels of competition; however, I tend to think that there is a point in which the canopies are similar enough, VX, Xaos, Velo, Jvx, etc that it really comes down to the pilot. Take any of those guys(and gals) and give them a canopy for 500 jumps and they'll be just as competitive under which ever canopy (of a similar performance level). Then again you and I have both seen some top level canopy pilots pull out some incredibly stupid fast and long swoops on random canopies. Like Scott Miller and his Sabre2 150 he enjoys jumping. Its almost like we could give some of the top guys a tandem slider and they'd swoop that 300+ft.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Spizzzarko 0 #8 July 26, 2006 There were a lot of JVX's flying in that meet, and the dudes flying them are really freaking good.
Brains 2 #9 July 26, 2006 Don't get me wrong, that was NOT meant as a slam to nick or Stu. I think they are putting up incredible performances, regardless of canopy. I also think that the more jumps you guys get under your new wings, the better the performances will get. Exciting times in swooping these days, i only wish i was there. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
AggieDave 6 #10 July 26, 2006 QuoteExciting times in swooping these days, i only wish i was there. You will be next season buddy. Have you thought about being a guest competitor this weekend just to get your "feet wet?"--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Brains 2 #11 July 26, 2006 QuoteYou will be next season buddy. Have you thought about being a guest competitor this weekend just to get your "feet wet?" I thought about it briefly, i am only 12 jumps back after a five month layoff, in my mind, not the time to start competing. Plus, firefly is cracking the whip on our training schedule for nationals. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

ntacfreefly 0 #14 July 27, 2006 It was the rule for that speed event I believe. 200 ft dragging water speed course. Dunno if it was straight or curved though. CanuckInUSA 0 #17 July 27, 2006 QuoteWhy would he drag in speed? It was actually a pretty cool event where you needed to drag through the entry gates and maintain contact with the water the entire 200 feet to score until the exit gates. It was almost as fun as the freestyle zone accuracy rounds. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
