tetra316 0 #1 October 16, 2006 I have four weeks off in December (gotta love school for that one!) and want to get some advanced canopy coaching. My goal is swooping. What would be a good place to spend a week with either a camp or some specific hands on coaching? I've done a couple courses with Brian Germain and Wyatt but they were not really what I was looking for. Suggestions?
Aprilfly 0 #2 October 16, 2006 You should go to SEBASTIAN for the Invasion boogie and the PD Challenge... The performance designs factory team will be doing a canopy skills camp January 1st ,2nd and third, its only $100 a day plus jumps and catering toward hi9gh performance stuff. Im doing all 3 days for $300 hope to do a bunch of jumps. Also the womens swoop comp is on the 4th january. There is more info on this a few threads down PD Chalenge. Chris Hayes post. Kimsdu 0 #3 October 16, 2006 The skills camp will fill up quick as there are limited slots and its so cheap. You can sign up with Freefall adventures 856 629 7553. This camp is followed by a womans swoop comp. intermediate comp and pro swoop comp on the beach. See PD Challenge for more details. Although this Camp is at Sebastian dropzone skydive crosskeys are the organizers.

Aprilfly 0 #8 October 16, 2006 Wont stu be in the competition? The purse is "respectable".. Maybe he can coach her and get some sun in SEB and compete!! Problem solved
tetra316 0 #9 October 16, 2006 How is the skills camp broken down? Is it progressive over the three days or just the same thing three times? Might be an option if I can get a really cheap flight and place to stay. I haven't been on the east coast yet.
Kimsdu 0 #10 October 17, 2006 If you do all 3 days of the course they will carry on with you where they left of, the first day will be group stuff im sure then catered individually, . Camping is free on the Dz and they have good showers and stuff, the boogie last year had about 30 people in tents so you wont be alone. This year we have an extra camping field. You can also stay at the sandrift super cheap motel but not so nice. Or best western have a discount if you tell them you are with the Invasion boogie. www.skydiveseb.com for more info you can also check out the beach on their website, we will be doing many beach jumps. You can pm me for more info if you like.
CanuckInUSA 0 #11 October 17, 2006 If you can make the Sebastien skills camp, then for sure it would be a great place to be for an up and coming canopy pilot (I am still holding out hope that I can make it out there a few days before the PST comp). But if not and you do know Stuart Shoenfeld (sp?) and are able to swing it with him, he might be a good person to guide you. Also, another alternative would be to head down to Eloy or Perris Valley and hire one of their respective canopy control coaches (who should also be able to give you excellent canopy control coaching). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
