morris 0 #4 November 5, 2007 Update from Australia: The last two days (sunday/monday) no training has been possible due to very strong winds. The day before (saturday) rain and clouds were the problem. Friday jumping was possible (headwind) and so was last thursday (the last day with really good conditions). Today it looks jumpable, if the forecast is right the whole competition will see mostly medium to strong downwindconditions interupted by showers... morris 0 #5 November 6, 2007 Today the weather was worse than hoped for. Pretty strong mixture of cross- and downwind, many competitors stayed on the ground including the local Aussies. This was for a reason cause crosswind from the east causes turbulences over the pond due to the very nearby and higher located highway...
br0k3n 0 #6 November 8, 2007 I would seem that we are experiencing the “wettest” November in 23 years…. This time of year is late Spring and us usually blue skies and warm. The weather is supposed to start to clear up tomorrow (Friday) and generally improve from there. bob.dino 1 #9 November 9, 2007 When I left today just after 11am, low cloud was slowing but not stopping progress. Competitors were getting out two or three to a pass. Jay Moledski unofficially broke the World Record in R2 of Speed - 2.56. Francisco Neri took out the end-of-course speed sensor and ensured a few folk needed rejumps. He may have done more than just knock the sensor over - apparently his arm was quite sore. There are a lot of PD orange/white/charcoal canopies here. Makes it bloody hard to figure out who's who! I'll be back there tomorrow & try and update some more. Thanks to Liam from Deepseed for the booze yesterday and the sore head today. Various PD people are blogging here.
