skygeezer 0 #1 March 3, 2008 Hi...I'm after some toughts on what should be the best landing surface for the CP Accuracy event. Should it be grass, pea gravel or sand? Thanks.
frost 1 #2 March 3, 2008 Sand is best for me personally - helps stop and softens the impact when I stand up a zone. Now for my canopy's sake it may a different story. I dont want any sand in the cells. Definitely grass :)
morris 0 #3 March 3, 2008 I´d say sand. But the sand shouldn´t be too soft, you shouldn´t sink in(to it). If the sand is too soft the risk of injuries is increased for stand-up landings.
freeflyn 0 #4 March 3, 2008 Pea gravel = Hell no! 2K5 Championship, anyone there will agree Grass = ok Sand = best as long as it is not a thin layer, at least a foot deep

ianmdrennan 2 #6 March 3, 2008 Personally, I prefer pea gravel or sand. Pea gravel feels softer for landings but gives more road rash. YMMVPerformance Designs Factory Team
piahenzi 0 #7 March 3, 2008 I did..... this weekend... face planted into it after sticking the landing.... snow is easier to remove from canopy and pilot chute than sand...I vote for snow !

Pea gravel is actually pretty nice.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Spizzzarko 0 #10 March 4, 2008 No JP that was "Razor Gravel" that was delivered directly off the side of the mountain about 50 miles to the west.
