andrewstewart 0 #1 January 9, 2003 Hi, I thought that I had read in the past that there were two volumes of Poynter's parachute manual, one for rounds and one for squares (canopies that is ;-) Can anyone clarify that this is volume one or two (or both combined): http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0915516357/ The 'editorial review' seems to imply it is volume 1 but I'd like to be sure. Can anyone recommend any additional reading material I should look at in this area - I want to start the journey towards getting my riggers ticket. Many thanks in advance, - Andrew
PhreeZone 20 #2 January 9, 2003 Vol 1 deals with everything prior to 1984 Vol 2 is 1985-1991 or so You'll need both to get your riggers ticket since Vol 1 and Vol 2 both have different info in them that you'll need. And unless you have a gift certificate or credit with Amazon buy them from a parachute dealer like Square1, Aerostore, Skykat, etc... help keep them around instead of helping Amazon.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
indyz 1 #3 January 9, 2003 I've got both and if I could only have one I'd go with Volume II. Especially if you are a non-rigger, it has more useful info for the modern jumper.
