IGOLOW 0 #26 January 20, 2003 Just ordered my first rig (I know, I know). After considering my options I decided to go with a Mirage. I tried on several containers and liked the way the Mirage fit. Everyone at my dropzone that has a Mirage seems to be very happy with it. My girlfriend made the decision a little easier for me. She bought me a complete rig for christmas (Cypress, Sabre II 135, PD Reserve 126, and a Mirage G4). I think I found a keeper!!!!I also saw the RTS link on the mirage site. It appears to be a student rig?? I noticed an option for a radio pocket.

KangaGT 0 #28 January 22, 2003 Little late, but. call Bill Halet at Mirage. He'll work you a sweet deal on a G4 ie: 50% off fully loaded. You should be honest and tell him your the first at your DZ for a G4.
Rdutch 0 #29 January 22, 2003 Quote Yes, I did, and I prefer Mirage G3/G4 over Vector 3/Micron because of the following: 1.) I like Mirage reserve pilotchute (with mesh) more than Vector's.*** The Vector pilot chute is actually better than a mesh chute. The mesh pilot chute was used by Relative a long time ago, they since came up with a better design. With the mesh reserve chute it has to be facing up to work, and in a burble will bounce around while the Relative chute is designed to work in less winds and catches air facing any direction. While Relative Workshop wont say their equipment is better, im sure they can arrange for you to see the test jump video of a mesh pc verces the new design.Quote 3.) Mirage offers hip rings. Vector does not.*** Not true at all, Relative has hip ring's. But this has been answered already. But how much flex in your chest do you need, chest rings are just an additional cost.Quote While the Mirage G4 is a great rig most of the reasons you chose not to buy a Vector are assumptions. both are perfectly safe rig's and some people have different tastes. Buy what you feel most comfortable, and visually appealing. I cant speak for mirage but Relative workshop has excellent customer service, if you really want to know what is so good about a vector you should send them an email or call them, (Mirage also). Rdutch 0 #31 January 23, 2003 While they are proud of their product (and deserve to be) I have never heard anyone from RWS talk bad about another product. Anytime I have asked anyone from there which is better they have only told me what makes theirs good. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! Rdutch 0 #34 January 23, 2003 Explaining what is good about your product is one thing. Verbally blasting is another. I have never heard anyone from relative say anything bad about another product to sell gear. But if you asked them what is so good about their stuff, they will explain the pro's of jumping a vector. That's all Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

That's all the part that i hightlighted i never said they did i'm just saying that they think there gear is the best, just as every manufactoror does. and they support there resons why it is better, or as you said, giving all the facts about it, but never saying that another rig is bad because if a rig is on the market, it won't be bad. it may not be as good looking as others, or may not be quite as safe for freeflying, or birdman, or what ever, as others, but they all are safe. and it also sounds like you really really like your vector, so of course you are going to back it up with everything you can. later
AndyMan 7 #36 January 23, 2003 QuoteI have never heard anyone from relative say anything bad about another product to sell gear. This makes a lot of sense. RW manufacturers and sells a lot of the hardware found on other rigs. It's be a very poor business decision for them to be slamming their 'customers'. Take a look at the metal hardware on your rig next time. Odds are there's either a RW or PDF stamped on it somewhere... _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
