174fps 1 #2 February 12, 2003 Interesting that they are removing the req to hold the formation for 3 secs in the world records largest formation section.
darkwing 5 #3 February 12, 2003 I am puzzled by the removal of the 3 second rule. Now you can take a grip on the way by while you are funnelling it and it will still be a record?? I'd love to hear the logic for its removal. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
quade 4 #4 February 12, 2003 I'm almost certain it'll come down to an interpretation of a grip showing "control" similar to the way that fast 4-way is judged.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
x3mcam 0 #5 February 13, 2003 Quade, that was one of the reasons. And as we remember what Sections 5 states in the start of the part about world records: "3.1.2 General Conditions (1) All record attempts must be performed according to the Competition Rules, where appropriate." blue ones Tomppa

quade 4 #7 February 13, 2003 Holy crap! John and I agree on something! I do believe it would be -prudent- to continue to hold the formation for at least three seconds though -- just to make certain the camera flyer got a good shot! quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
harryskydives 0 #8 February 13, 2003 I do believe it would be -prudent- to continue to hold the formation for at least three seconds though Maybe the change is so that there can be a 2 point 333 way record. Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...
