IPC Meeting - New Dive Pool

Does anybody know when the next IPC meeting is and when the new dive pool is will be available?

Feb...excpect the slower 4 and 8 way blocks to go away....heavy "foreign" influence to make that happen...sucks to be a judge (I'm glad I'm not one).

There has not been any changes for a couple of years. And with the controversy over Zipper-Star, there seems to be an acknowledgement that changes are overdue.

Time sure flies - I was thinking that last year was the most recent change (piver-viper, etc), but was it actually two years ago?

I do think Zipper Star is more trouble than it's worth.

It would be fun to learn some new blocks too.

Three to be precise - current pool became valid in 2002 .

Zipper-star is my favorite! And I'd say comp-box is my 2nd fave-- as long as they don't take both, I think I'll be ok...... maybe.....

I really like zipstar, but it has been the cause of a lot of grief last year. I don't recall compbox as being that slow but it's been 3 years.

I'm trying to talk my teammates in going AAA this year just so we can do the m&m's - they are fun. Sure we'll be fighting for not being in last place in AAA versus a high position in AA (supposedly), but it is more fun....... I expect I'll not win that argument until we're 'consistently' in double digits. That's a nice break point in my mind.

I'm of the mind if you're not in this to learn and have fun, then you're doing it wrong.

How can you learn if you never challenge yourself? More AAA teams! Come one everyone! You know you wanna...



Anyway, I'm betting 12 will be gone, just because there are so many problems. 16? why 16? That was one of our fastest blocks!

Yeah! Save block 12!!! It is one of the few blocks that I am allowed to move for. Just make sure you guys do your 180s and quit being a bunch of wusses,
after all, it may look like 4 way on the camera, it really is 5. Merry Xmas.

there is a possibility that IPC may keep zipper-star and force the cog. This will avoid the judging issues. It would be a shame to lose the slot switcher. Have heard rumors that the old Sat-Sat will be new block 12 and that either the zipper or the star will become random 'O'. Also look for a change in the directional arrow of the tail on block 13. Likely to be changed to either direction relative to the points 270. Another change at the request of judges.

February sure seems late for a dive pool change when Nationals are early this year. Which pool will the Valentines Meet use????

it was one of the suggestions (and IMHO a pretty good one) - but after being busted left and right for the last three years both judges and competitors would probably like it dead and buried
