jwynne 0 #1 February 18, 2006 I spent last year training and learning and competing in 4way. There a lot of good learning tools around between Fasttrax, Airspeed and some of the other web sites. This year I'm learning 8way. I've looked a little and not found much in terms of slots and continuity plans. I'd like to show up for our training camps knowing a little more than I do now. Any suggestions?

dgskydive 0 #4 February 27, 2006 Janna you have BC right there. I know there are at least 2 8way teams this year at Perris. Furry is coaching them. I bet you already know that though.Dom
jwynne 0 #5 March 1, 2006 Dom I'm on Christy's 8way team and looking forward to a great time. Just trying to get a little ahead on the learning curve. Chris sent me some great material. There's just not near as many info resources for learning 8way as compared to all the 4way material around. Janna

HeatherB 0 #8 March 20, 2006 QuoteThere's just not near as many info resources for learning 8way as compared to all the 4way material around. I've noticed that too. We watched some of 8 '99 today though, it is really helpful. (no jumping this weekend...tons of rain here!) I need to drill the divepool into my head this week. If anyone has any crazy mnemonic devices or tricks, pipe up. They work really well for me for some reason. Like: O: "Oh my god, compressed accordians." D: Dopeless Diamond (works for me somehow) P: Well, think naughty. Venus...P.... J: Jumping Springbok 7: Buy 7 nuts. (lame, but sorta works) The blocks are harder to create tricks for... Of course it doesn't help to know the names, letters and numbers if I don't know what the formations look like...I am working on all these things. And then eventually I shouldn't need the tricks. Good luck with your team! --Heather
harryskydives 0 #9 March 22, 2006 Here are a few: Hour Class, Hopeless Diamond, Heroquoise, SpringJock, Krank, Loping Facing Diamond, RubEck. Make sure you have a great clone and keep your eyes on them. If your team does a compleat ground prep it will come to you. C ya soon Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...
