Macaw 0 #1 May 17, 2006 Just got back from Airspeed 4way camp. That is my best skydiving experience. I've learnt in those 5 days more than during all my previous jumps. Todd, Andy H, Eric and Gary thank you for sharing your experience and all those little techniques that made us progress. You rock and you are the best! ________________________________________ Life is a series of wonderful opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. billvon 3,031 #3 July 6, 2006 We've done two Airspeed tunnel camps so far this season. First one was a 'standard' one with Amy and I; second one was a camp Andy D set up for us at our request for our team. It was a great experience. The second time we had some problems with heat (109F is a bit much for an hour in the tunnel) but it was still worth it.
GQ_jumper 4 #4 July 6, 2006 i can relate to ya on that heat bro i was there two weeks ago and was buring up. i've also done about 5 camps with them this year, one of their standard ones, a 3 day one my team set up with Neal a 2 on 2 session that Kirk and Eliana did for Rosa and I and a couple three on on session(those were my favorite) it's amazing what they ca do for your flying.History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. UKFSChick 0 #5 July 6, 2006 Five! Not bad (although sounds like addiction...)! Did you come to the one Gary was running with Kirk at SVColorado at the weekend? Big fun with some very little people! (And some normal-sized ones too...) Emma
GQ_jumper 4 #6 July 6, 2006 i was there this weekend, unfortunately i couldn't fly as my bank in their infinite wisdom chose 4th of uly weekend as the right time to sht down their system for ugrades, so i was broke all weekend! i just went up to say hi to Kirk and wish em luck in germany. all but one of the camps i've done were put together just for me, they're great about doing things like that. Basically in the last 10 months they took me from someone who could get 3 or 4 points, all random to someone that can do a 16+ average on a 10 round open class draw, we did it a few weeks ago, and they did this when i only have 300 jumps, so their coaching is priceless. with the pace they've had me improving i'm setting my sights on being able to fly a 20+ average by the time i hit 1000 jumps.History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Macaw 0 #11 July 7, 2006 thanks. But c'mon there's still lots to learn for us. Going to fly in the tunnel with Airspeed guys in a week. Looking forward to it and can't wait. ________________________________________ Life is a series of wonderful opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. MarkR 0 #13 July 10, 2006 Quotethanks. But c'mon there's still lots to learn for us. Were would be the fun if there wasn't? One question though: Is the jump # in your profile correct? If yes, how did you manage to fly like this with a mere 350 dives? Lots of tunnel time I suppose?»Somewhere between the lies and truths borderlines get shady. Macaw 0 #15 July 11, 2006 Quote One question though: Is the jump # in your profile correct? If yes, how did you manage to fly like this with a mere 350 dives? Lots of tunnel time I suppose? Yep, I've got 378 jumps (made another 28 last week-end) and approximately 15 hrs of tunnel time out of which 5 hrs were spent on flying 4way. Then every week-end we do at least 10 coached jumps in a team. Flying in the tunnel with Airspeed guys works miracles. No, seriously, I've been to 3 Airspeed camps and everything you see in the video is the result of their excellent coaching. ________________________________________ Life is a series of wonderful opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. MarkR 0 #16 July 11, 2006 Quote...and approximately 15 hrs of tunnel time... Gee, that's freefall time worth 980 jumps (from 4000m). Allright, there's the explaination. Incredibly good exit discipline though.»Somewhere between the lies and truths borderlines get shady.
