edd 0 #1 February 10, 2003 Size? I have just brought a rig from the states, and it has size I 55, what does this size refer to ?. thanks eddy
skygod7777 0 #2 February 10, 2003 well, what kind of rig is it?? i think that size aplies to an infinity. and it would mean the size of main and reserve that would fit in the rig. and if it is an infinity, and that is the size, i don't know what size main and reserve would fit in though. later
Kris 0 #3 February 10, 2003 Sounds like it's possibly an Infinity. That size would refer to the size of canopies that it will take for the main & reserve. You can contact the manufacturer at http://www.velocityrigs.com/ You might also send a private message to "KellyF" which is Kelly Farrington, the designer and producer of the Infinity. edd 0 #5 February 10, 2003 yes it's and Infinity, with a 169 main and a 220 reserve. It's my very first rig. I have ten days to make my mind up. I've noticed that the leg straps don't have any extra padding, like the student rig which had padding that I could adjust, so the straps might crease and seeing as they take alot of weight on openings this could be painfull. What I driving at about the sizeing is, of the shelf rigs how do you find your size, without trying on first?. Thanks eddy
skygod7777 0 #6 February 10, 2003 QuoteWhat I driving at about the sizeing is, of the shelf rigs how do you find your size, without trying on first?. well, you can always get a main lift web measure ment. and then find a rig that fits and get that measure ment, and see how close they are. or on javelins, the have sizes like C-17, i think that means yoke size C and a 17 in main lift web. but i could be wrong, i am only guessing. later

Get the serial number of the rig from the seller and contact Infinity. They should be able to pull up the build record for the rig and tell you the harness sizing. If it's too far off to fit you, the manufacturer can rebuild the harness. Keep in mind, a harness rebuild can run from $200 USD to $500 USD depending on the options & manufacturer. He told me that he would lengthen the main lift webbing if needed for $75. I never actually needed it done but that seems like a very good price to me.Flying Hellfish #
riggerrob 643 #9 February 10, 2003 Another way to measure harness size is to stuff the container with canopies or pillows then put it on and tighten the harness. Ask your friendly neighborhood master rigger to look it over. He/she can tell you if it is a decent fit.
